Overpowered TAQ Evolvere LMG from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 nerfed

FPS shooters and their updates are often a hit or miss, especially regarding weapon and class balancing, which takes weeks, if not months, of trials and testing to land the perfect sweet spot.

Developers Activision and Sledgehammer Games have nerfed the TAQ Evolvere’s recoil issue in the February 16^th update that was causing frustration amongst the fans. The 5.56 ammunition for TAQ was nerfed in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’s multiplayer and Warzone. Additionally, Warzone also saw the 7.62 ammunition being nerfed.

These nerfs come after the recent buffs handed out certain weapons like the Striker 9, WPS Stinger, and the TAQ Evolvere on February 13^th. Too much of a good thing cannot be good.

This is precisely what happened to the TAQ Evolvere after February 13^th, which buffed the LMG’s movement speed, damage, range, and 556 Belt Magazine attachment.

The TAQ Evolvere had practically zero recoil in-game, making it overpowered, and no one loves an overpowered gun that makes life too easy.

Other changes in the February 16^th update include players’ ability to allow the DM56 and MCW Conversion Kits to correctly progress the Prophetic Squish challenge. This challenge is a part of the Cryptic Bootcamp event.

There are also new game modes for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The new playlists are Departures 24/7, Snipers Only, and Hordepoint: Hellhound Pound.

There are also recent rumors of the upcoming Call of Duty title being released in October 2024. This comes after Microsoft’s Phil Spencer confirmed the release date to the employees.

Until the next title hits the shelves, it is up to Activision to maintain the existing Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone properly and release frequent patches to keep the game a fun experience and hold on to the loyal fanbase.
