Bob Odenkirk teases that the two final episodes of Better Call Saul will have “more powerful” scenes featuring Breaking Bad stars, Walter White and Jesse Pinkman.
The Breaking Bad spin-off, Better Call Saul returned to AMC this April with season 6. Before its return, showrunner Peter Gould announced that Breaking Bad stars, Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul, who played Walter White and Jesse Pinkman respectively will make an appearance sometime in the season.
Their appearance was first teased when the title of episode 11 of season 6 was revealed to be “Breaking Bad”. Vince Gilligan confirmed that the beloved meth-cooking duo will be making their first appearance in “Breaking Bad” at Walt and Jesse’s statue reveal in Alberquerque.
The episode aired this week and the audience finally got a glimpse of the beloved due, along with their mobile meth lab. However, it seems like there’s more Walt and Jesse coming our way!
During a recent interview in The View, Bob Odenkirk hinted that there will be more of Walt and Jesse in the upcoming episodes of season 6. Upon being asked about Cranston and Paul’s cameos in episode 11, Odenkirk said that ‘it’s just the start’. Check out the statement below-
The truth is, it was just the start. There’s more of them. The scenes that come up are powerful. I love that everybody thinks they’re gonna show up. Then they see them, they go, “Great. We did it — we saw them again!” I’m like, “You never know what’s gonna come next on our show.” So don’t be sure you’ve seen the last — I’m telling you, you haven’t.
Odenkirk teased that the duo’s future appearances in the series will be “more powerful” as well. This was expected, since episode 11 ended without proper closure for its Breaking-Bad connect. Despite Mike’s warnings, Saul decides to visit Walt in his high school to provide assistance regarding his meth business.
The final two episodes are most likely to explore Saul’s integral role in Heisenberg’s rise to power. In Breaking Bad, it was Saul who introduced Walt and Jesse to Gus Fring, their biggest distributor. However, in BCS, it was revealed that in the beginning, Gus was not interested in doing business with amateurs.
Thus, Saul persuaded Gus to collaborate with Walt and Jesse, which led to everyone’s eventual downfall. The last two episodes will help retell these events from Saul’s perspective.
