Cyberpunk 2077: Dex or Evelyn Choices & Consequences – Easy Guide

While playing the Information quest, one complicated affair will present itself. The dilemma would be whether to side with Evelyn or Dex.

This Information mission will force you to think if monetary gain is worth sacrificing your morals for. You can either betray the trust Dex had in you for the financial incentive that Evelyn is offering you or you can honor your loyalty towards him.

1. Background

Initially, you start as working under Dexter Deshawn for the heist mission. Everything will seem pretty straightforward until Evelyn approaches you.

She will offer you more money if you are willing to cut your ties with Dex. Therefore, you’ll have to decide on whether to honor your loyalty or sell Dex out.

2. Consequences of Choosing Different Dialogues

I. Choosing “I’ll Think About It Dialogue” Option

As the dialogue suggests, you won’t give Evelyn a definite answer. Upon using this option while speaking to Evelyn, she will give you her number. In case, you ever change your mind and feel like betraying Dex, you can give her a holler.

No straightforward yes option will appear in the game. Therefore, if you want to break faith with Dex, choose this dialogue. After all, Evelyn will offer you a 50% cut for the Heist. 

II. Choosing “No way. Dex Trusts Me” Option

Going ahead with this option would mean refusing her without wasting any time. Basically, this dialogue will prove your loyalty to Dex. Evelyn will still give you her number in case you change your mind.

Later during the Heist, the game again will make you choose between two options. While interacting with Dex, you can either stay quiet about the whole Evelyn situation or expose her.

• Remaining silent: If you remain quiet and don’t rat Evelyn, your commission for the Heist quest will increase to 35%.

• Telling Dex the truth about Evelyn’s offer: If you choose to rat Evelyn, Dex will be glad that you told him the truth. Consequently, he will give you an increment that’ll see your commission rising to 40%.

The dilemma that the Heist serves is only to complicate the game up. By the time you complete the mission, Dex will die from murder. No matter what choice you would have made, Dex was simply meant to die.

Now it doesn’t matter if you kept your ethics ever true or did the dirty on him, in the end, you’ll get no money.

Cyberpunk 2077 is a 2020 action role-playing video game developed by CD Projekt Red and published by CD Projekt, based on video game designer Mike Pondsmith’s game series.

Set in a dystopian cyberpunk universe, the player assumes the role of “V,” a mercenary in the fictional Californian city known as “Night City,” where they deal with the fallout from a heist gone wrong that results in an experimental cybernetic “bio-chip” containing an engram of the legendary rock star and terrorist Johnny Silverhand (played by Keanu Reeves) threatening to slowly overwrite V’s mind; as the story progresses V and Johnny must work together to find a way to be separated and save V’s life.
