Intel’s Raptor Lake Core i9-13900K CPU Sample Touches 6.0 GHz Mark

Intel’s Raptor Lake flagship i9-13900K CPU is a high-end model with 24 cores and 32 threads. It scored 846 points in the CPU-Z benchmark when tested with the DDR4 memory.

Baidu user @Xiaochun claimed to have successfully overclocked Intel’s upcoming flagship Core i9-13900K CPU up to 6.0 GHz.

The i9-13900K features 24 cores with twice as many Efficient Cores as the 16-core i7-13700K. The pre-production sample of the latter achieved 6 GHz speed just a few days ago.

The screenshot posted by the user shows the i9-13900K ES2 operating at 6.0 GHz frequency at 1.546V. It scored 976 points in single-core testing of the CPU-Z benchmark.

Apparently, no complex cooling system is required for unlocking the CPU sample’s true overclocking potential, as shown by another screenshot posted by the user.

An AIO cooling setup is sufficient since the temperature and power draw are the same as in an idle state.

The i9-13900K can even reach 1000 points in the CPU-Z test with the Efficient cores disabled. However, doing so will cause the sample to be slightly slower than the i7-13700K.

Here are the CPU-Z single-threaded test scores for Intel’s Raptor Lake series:

 Configuration Score
Core i7-13700K ES 8P @ 6.0 GHz 983
Core i9-13900K ES 8P @ 6.0 GHz + 8E 976
Core i7-13700K ES 8P @ 5.8 GHz + 8E @ 3.7 GHz 947
Core i9-13900K ES 8P @ 5.5 GHz 892
Core i9-13900K ES 8P @ 5.2 GHz 846
Core i9-12900K 8P @ 5.2 GHz 844
Core i9-12900K 8P @ 5.1 GHz 832
Core i9-13900K ES 8P @ 5.1 GHz 829
Core i9-12900K  8P @ 5.0 GHz 815
Core i9-13900K ES 8P @ 5.0 GHz 813

Intel’s Raptor Lake series will be released in September this year.
