The BBC One series The Tourist focuses on a man who loses his memory and has no idea of his identity and the bad things he has done. Season 1 was released on HBO Max in 2022. In 2023, the platform announced that they did not want to air the already-completed season 2 of the series.

Netflix came in to save the show, with season 1 making it to the streaming platform’s Global Top 10 list. From January 29 to February 4, the series recorded 11.4 million hours of viewership. These numbers are a solid start, given that the show debuted on February 1. 

Jamie Dornan plays a man who wakes in an Australian hospital without any memory of his identity and whereabouts. To find out who he is, he must put together the little clues he has. Helen Chambers also stars in the series as a rookie cop involved in the case. 

The main conflict in the series is that the protagonist does not know whom to trust until the very end, as he has no memory. The saga is designed to keep its viewers guessing every moment. The unidentified man goes through six episodes, taking his chances to get to the truth. 

The series received positive reviews from critics, while Dornan received immense critical acclaim for his performance. The actor has a charming screen presence, and the story is gripping. We’ll see more of him in the next season!
