Are you searching for a new anime that revolves around a fashionista? If yes, you’ll be happy to know that another romantic comic is being adapted into an anime, starring a talented 22-year-old social media influencer.

‘True Beauty’ is a manhwa created by Yaongyi, a former fitting model and artist. The story revolves around the themes of appearance, social media’s impact, and the dark side of beauty.

During the Anime NYC panel, Crunchyroll announced a new anime based on Yaongyi’s ‘True Beauty’ webtoon manhwa, which will debut in 2024.

The webtoon narrates the story of Jugyeong, a young girl who aspires to be beautiful. Initially, she is depicted as unappealing because of her poor complexion and lack of cosmetics. She starts exploring the world of makeup during middle school, consulting online forums and tutorials.

After a vacation, Jugyeong returns to a new school where she hides her flaws through makeup, gaining popularity, and navigating through friendships and love.

The manwha portrays how physical attractiveness can give one a social advantage. It also emphasizes the importance of inner beauty and accepting oneself without makeup. The comic distinguishes between how society perceives you and how those close to you view you.

Overall, ‘True Beauty’ is a comic that was able to captivate a lot of readers with its twists and turns and cliffhangers. Fans hope the adaptation will be successful and portray the message of the original webtoon, keeping the viewers hooked.
