Solo Leveling: Possible Anime, Games and Drama Adaptations

Solo Leveling is one of the most popular ongoing webtoons in South Korea. The game-style format of the webtoon is unique and lends a hand in its overarching popularity.

Sung Jin Woo has a huge fanbase, and the dashing hero is as charming and powerful as compared to any other hero.

It is one of those webtoons with high hopes for getting an anime adaptation.

After the successful anime adaptation of God Of Highschool and Tower Of God, fans are looking forward to more webtoon-anime adaptations, and Solo Leveling is on the top of the list of such webtoons.

Hwang Hyun Soo, the CEO of Noble Comics Company, recently revealed in an interview that he has plans for the Solo Leveling webtoon to be adapted into other media.

The popular webtoon might get a game, anime, and drama adaptations. Noble Comics is an independent company of Kakao Page, the site where Solo Leveling is serialized.

However, this comment by the CEO of the company shows that the authorities have realized how widespread the webtoon is and that the help of other media can further extend it.

Several manga titles are adapted into games for promotional reasons. Popular manga like One Piece and Dragon Ball already have their series of games.

It is also very common for webtoons to get adapted into K-dramas. Cheese in the Trap and My ID is Gangnam Beauty are some popular webtoon turned drama titles.

However, most dramas that are adapted from webtoons are of the romantic genre. An action-fantasy webtoon like Solo Leveling would be quite an exciting project.

While it might be an obstacle for a drama, it is precisely this action-fantasy genre that can make it a perfect anime.

An official from DNC media, the production company, commented that as Solo Leveling doesn’t have many Korean elements or references in it, it is widely read by foreigners.

Let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope Solo Leveling soon gets an anime!
