In Episode 8 of Dangers in My Heart season 2, titled “We Stayed Up All Night, “it was finally time for Ichikawa and his friends to get promoted to third year. Everyone was busy scheming about how to stay in the same class. Ichikawa stayed in school a bit longer than usual.
He eventually met up with Yamada in the gym, where after Yamada defeated him in a basketball game, she asked if she could call him Kyo. A few days later, it was Ichikawa’s birthday, and even though he hadn’t planned anything before, he ended up inviting Yamada, and most importantly, she stayed over at his house for the night.

2. Episode 9 Speculation
A sort of weird tension has been building between Yamada and Ichikawa. They are both aware that the other person has some if not a whole lot of feelings for them, but at the same time, they refuse to accept it. A lot happened in the last episode, including Yamada’s first time staying at Ichikawa’s home. She’s much more comfortable teasing him now. In episode 9, their classes for the third year will begin. We have to hope that Ichikawa and Yamada stay in the same class.

The day after white day, Adachi came to school with a box of cookies for Sekine. He asked for Ichikawa’s help, but his plan failed miserably as the box of cookies fell out of the shoe locker. While trying to fix it, Ichikawa accidentally put the box in Yamada’s locker, which gave birth to a slight misunderstanding.
It was finally time for Ichikawa to be a third year, and now he probably won’t be in the same class as Yamada. After school ended for the day, he stayed for a bit before leaving. He received a message from Yamada asking if he was still at school. She asked him to meet at the gym. Once Ichikawa got there, Yamada asked him to play basketball with her, and the loser had to do anything the winner asked.
Yamada won the challenge, and as her reward, he asked Ichikawa if she could call him Kyo. This startled him, and he wasn’t able to answer right away. That night, Kana asked Ichikawa about his birthday plans since it was right around the corner. He subconsciously said that Yamada was busy even though Kana didn’t mention her. This allowed her to tease Ichikawa.
However, fate had other plans. On the night of his birthday, Yamada finished her work early, so she met up with Ichikawa at the station. The two were walking back together when they met Ichikawa’s father. It was only then that Yamada found out about Ichikawa’s birthday. He invited her to join them, and she happily agreed.
Once they returned home, Kana got super excited to see Yamada. After dinner, it was time to cut the cake. While cutting the cake, Yamada whispered “Happy Birthday, Kyo” in Ichikawa’s ears. This caught him by surprise and knocked him out. Kana was having a lot of fun with Yamada, so she asked her to stay for the night. Yamada hesitated for a bit but ultimately agreed to stay over.
Ichikawa was nervous from this sudden change of plans but calmed himself down, thinking that Yamada and Kanna would probably stay up all night. Crashing all his plans, Kana fell asleep immediately. Well, nothing too weird happened, but Ichikawa discovered that Yamada was up in the middle of the night, so he talked with her all night till she fell asleep.
