What happens in Marvel’s Echo Post-Credit Scene?

The Echo post-credit scene opens with Kingpin in his private jet with a woman, presumably his business assistant.

After giving orders to assemble the remaining heads and stabilize the situation, Fisk focuses on the TV. There, two commentators are discussing the NYC mayoral race.

The commentators are talking about how the city clearly lacks a mayor with character. They say the people of NYC need ‘a fighter’ as their leader to help them deal with their daily problems.

As Fisk watches, we see a glitter at the corner of his eyes. Is he trying to rally himself as the next mayor of NYC?

This shouldn’t surprise the fans, as Kingpin has always been a public figure. However, we’ve always considered him a businessman more than a political figure.

However, the TV commentators discuss the need for a strong leader who can challenge the status quo. From his expressions, we can definitely conclude that Kingpin has intentions to run for mayor in New York City.

Kingpin discusses with his assistant about what should be done when he returns to the city, before watching the NYC mayoral race debate. We hear Kingpin order to set up a meeting with the “remaining heads”, which likely refer to the remaining people of his organization.

Previously on Echo, Maya had blown up an armory in Fisk’s empire and took a lot of his weapons. Kingpin’s criminal empire relies on his intimidation, and his presumed death after Maya shot him in the eye weakened his authority.

Therefore, Fisk probably intends to restore his organization and its dominance over the city when he comes back.

Echo Post-Credits Scene Establishes at Kingpin in Daredevil: Born Again

It is confirmed that Vincent D’Onofrio will reprise his role as Kingpin in Daredevil: Born Again. The details of the plot have not been revealed by Marcel but images from the shoot indicate we’ll experience Fisk’s mayoral run.

Some of the set pictures featured a formally dressed Kingpin, who could be a part of another mayoral run. We also see Mayor Fisk’s merchandise at an event.

A U.S. copyright filing also reveals that both Kingpin and Daredevil will “serve the people of New York” in Daredevil: Born Again.

The post-credits scene from Echo confirms these speculations and sets up Kingpin’s return. It is also confirmed that he will be running for the mayor of New York City. The scene sets up Kingpin’s new storyline, where he’ll be focusing on NYC.

Kingpin and Daredevil’s rivalry to establish power and control over NYC will also rekindle in Born Again. Moreover, in the post-credits scene, Kingpin is a figure similar to former US President Donald Trump.

Trump also ran his campaign on the idea that NYC needed to be managed by someone who’s not a typical politician.

The commentators in Echo suggest that New York City requires an alternative to the usual political candidates. This echoes Trump’s 2016 campaign and invites comparisons between Kingpin and Trump.

It remains uncertain if this theme will persist in Daredevil: Born Again, but it is plausible.

Got the rare talent to binge an entire show in a single sitting just like that. Although a sucker for psychological thrillers, no bias for any genre when it comes to a good story. A living proof that Netflix and chill is not a myth!
