Ahsoka Episode 6: Grand Admiral’s Plan To Conquer The Galaxy Revealed

Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen) is featured loading up his Star Destroyer with mysterious cargo in Ahsoka episode 6. While it has not yet been confirmed what precisely these crates contain, there are some strong hints provided by the new Star Wars show. To that end, Thrawn’s return to the known galaxy may be darker than previously imagined.

As seen in Ahsoka episode 6, the titular Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) and the Jedi droid Huyang are en route to Peridea. In this extragalactic world, the former Imperial leader, Grand Admiral Thrawn, has been in exile for years.

However, his agents, such as Morgan Elsbeth and her Dark Jedi mercenaries, have already arrived in this new episode (with Mandalorian Sabine Wren as their captive). The nature of Thrawn’s exile and clues pointing toward his plans have begun to be revealed, including what’s in these mysterious crates.

The Crates are being retrieved from the Catacombs meaning they’re probably bodies.

Revealed, shortly after Thrawn’s dynamic live-action debut in Ahsoka episode 6, a vast collection of crates being loaded onto Thrawn’s Star Destroyer named The Chimaera.

This is part of Thrawn’s agreement with the Great Mothers, a trio of Nightsisters who helped him contact the central Star Wars galaxy. Furthermore, Elsbeth notes that it will take three rotations to move all the cargo aboard while confirming that these crates were being held in the catacombs beneath the Great Mothers’ Dathomiri temple.

Considering the size and length of each crate and the fact that they were being held in catacombs, it’s very likely that Thrawn’s new cargo is a legion of corpses.

Although it’s not confirmed, there are several teases based on the appearance of Thrawn’s remaining forces, known as the Night Troopers, and the known history and powers of the Nightsisters. To that end, there’s likely a dangerous reason why Thrawn is currently loading his starship full of bodies.

Why Thrawn & The Nightsisters Would Want Bodies?

After the events of Ahsoka episode 6, it’s unknown whether these bodies are deceased Nightsisters or fallen Stormtroopers who once served under Grand Admiral Thrawn’s command.

To that end, the bodies being transferred may combine the two groups. Because the Great Mothers have allied themselves with Thrawn, he may agree to help them send their dead to the central Star Wars galaxy, allowing them to escape their original homeworld aboard his ship and resurrect their race once they do.

Using their dark magicks, the Nightsisters’ powers of resurrection have been featured before during the Clone Wars, shortly before their near-extinction thanks to Count Dooku and their massacre at the hands of General Grievous.

To that end, the reveal that the former Imperial Inquisitor Marrok was seemingly a corpse reanimated by Elsbeth establishes the resurrection powers in Ahsoka itself, along with Thrawn directly referencing their abilities. As a result, Thrawn’s dark alliance with the Nightsisters could very well turn the Imperial Remnant into a literal Imperial Resurrection when and if he does return to the central Star Wars galaxy.

The Nightsisters Can Give Thrawn An Undead Army

There is a strong likelihood that Grand Admiral Thrawn will soon gain an undead army in Ahsoka’s future. To that end, he may already have reanimated corpses under his command based on the battered state of his Night Troopers.

Featured wearing broken armor with gold replacing lost and damaged pieces, Thrawn and his Stormtroopers have not had a peaceful exile. Perhaps the Nightsisters have already proven their powers to Thrawn by reanimating soldiers of The Chimaera who fell in battle.

Overall, the powers of the Nightsisters and the strong potential of an undead army have made Thrawn’s imminent return even more concerning.

Upon returning to the main Star Wars, it’s possible that every stormtrooper ever killed could now be resurrected, bolstering the Imperial Remnant’s military as was promised in The Mandalorian season 3. As such, the contents within the mysterious crates in Ahsoka episode 6 are almost certainly bodies.

It is a prospect that’s as exciting as it is incredibly dark for the final two episodes of Ahsoka.
