4 Potential WWE Stars Who May Replace Jey Uso in Smackdown

At WWE Payback, Jey Uso returned after quitting the company a month ago. The tag team specialist moved to Monday Night RAW, far away from The Bloodline drama that has plagued his career prospects as a singles Superstar.

“Main Event” Jey Uso already seems to have found his footing on the flagship show, immediately reuniting with Sami Zayn.

However, Uso probably wasn’t just gifted to the red brand since a current RAW Superstar will most likely jump ship to SmackDown.

According to a recent report, WWE may have indirectly confirmed Kevin Owens as the one to replace Jey Uso on Smackdown. In a recent episode of Raw, we saw Owens cutting a promo in front of the Smackdown promo. This could indicate that Owens is about to make his Smackdown move.

Although WWE hasn’t officially announced who will replace Jey Uso on SmackDown, there are a few possibilities.

4. Cody Rhoades

Cody Rhodes made a surprise announcement on Monday Night Raw, revealing that Main Event Uso would join the red brand’s roster. Although Rhoades might have been genuine with his welcome, some speculate it may have also been a strategic move by Rhoades.

Given his backstage influence, Rhodes may have pulled some strings to get Jey Uso drafted to Raw, clearing his path to Smackdown.

Strong rumors suggest Rhodes aims to switch brands himself, inching closer to “finishing the story” with Roman Reigns and eventually challenging him for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania Goes Hollywood.

Rhoades appears to be setting the stage for the big rematch he’s been seeking against Reigns on the Greatest Stage of Them All.

3. Bronson Reed

Upon his creative takeover in July 2022, Triple H returned several talents to WWE. However, a few projects from his rehiring wave have been a roaring success, including “Big” Bronson Reed.

The former NXT North American Champion has virtually been a non-factor for his second run.

Aside from a few “business” deals that saw him do The Miz’s bidding, Reed has done nothing of note and is struggling to find his footing on the main roster.

However, all hope is not lost, for a move to SmackDown could be a welcome change of fortunes.

Few men on the blue brand could match his strength and size, making him an instant threat to everyone in the locker room.

2. Chad Gable

Chad Gable has had a roller-coaster career. In a true fairytale story, Chad Gable went from a perennial Tag Team Specialist to the man who almost ended Gunther’s record-setting Intercontinental Championship reign.

After months of endearing performances, Gable earned the WWE Universe’s respect, becoming one of the most solid competitors in sports entertainment.

It’s time to launch his career further and push him to the moon.

But since RAW is already loaded with babyfaces like Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and now Jey Uso dominating the scene, a move to Smackdown will allow him to shine as a top competitor.

1. Kevin Owens

The most significant possibility is Kevin Owens. Although he is raw now, his long history with Roman Reigns and The Bloodline on Smackdown is known.

His move could be a feud-motivated storyline with Roman Reigns, or he could be brought in to help Sami Zayn take down the bloodline. Owens has been stagnant on Raw, too. A fresh move to Smackdown might help his career get back on track.
