The distribution of physical copies of manga around the globe can be pretty complicated. Unavailability of retail stores and the high cost of shipments are some of the many problems publishers face.
Kaiten Books, a leading publisher of manga in English, has found a solution to some of these problems.
The publishing house, which started as a small business, has now accumulated several manga titles under its label. Loner in Another World, Gacha Girls Corps, and The Yakuza’s Guide to Babysitting are some of the finest works of Kaiten Books.
Kaiten Books will partner with Pathway Book Service for the distribution of physical volumes of various mangas.
This collaboration will enable Kaiten Books to distribute their work to retailers like Barnes & Noble and Book Depository. The publishing house has also announced the release of the following five manga in the summer of 2021:
1. Loner Life in Another World Volume 3
Written by Shoji Goji and illustrated by Bibi, the story follows the adventures of Haruka as he tries to find out his classmates in the depths of a dark forest. The third volume of the manga will be released on June 15.
2. UzaMaid: Our Maid is Way Too Annoying! Volume 1
Created by Kanko Nakamura, the manga is about a stubborn young girl named Misha Takanashi. After her mother passes away, several maids are hired to look after her.
She manages to drive them away through her behavior and stubbornness. However, when a new maid-Kamoi is hired, her life changes!
The manga will release on July 20.
3. Shed that Skin, Ryugasaki-san! Volume 2
Kazutomo Ichitomo’s manga “Shed that Skin, Ryugasaki-san!” follows the story of the reptilian girl Ryuagasaki. After falling in love with Yugami, her life changes forever.
Releasing on July 20, the second volume will focus on how our protagonist saves her secret from the rest of the world!
4. Gacha Girls Corps Volume 1
Written by Chinkururi and illustrated by Syuu Haruno, the isekai manga “Gacha Girls Corps” follows the adventure of mobile game addict Heihachi and his army of gacha girls. They have to save the world from the attack of the monsters from another dimension.
The manga will be released on July 20.
5. The Yakuza’s Guide to Babysitting Volume 1
Tsukiya’s original manga “The Yakuza’s Guide to Babysitting” is the story of Kirishima Tooru of the Sakuragi crime family. One day, he receives a unique mission – babysitting the boss’ daughter!
His reaction to the whole situation is hilarious as the young yakuza is inexperienced in such matters. It will be released on July 20.
With so many mangas getting released, readers are up for a real treat this summer! But this is not the end, as Kaiten Books plans to announce more releases in the coming days.
