“The Way of the Househusband” Returns on Jan 1! Netflix Shares Stills.

Prepare yourself for a banger of a new year as “The Way of the Househusband” returns in 2023 with a second season. And from the looks of it, it could be a lot smoother than what we got in the previous season.

Netflix revealed on its official Twitter on Sunday that the second season of “The Way of the Househusband” will arrive on January 1, 2023, along with some stills from the upcoming season. The streaming platform announced the season in September.

Season 1 of the anime was released in April 2021 with the first part including five episodes. The second part, also containing five episodes, was released in October 2021. A live-action film also aired on June 3.

The first season was highly criticized by the audience for its limited animation style. However, the second season seems to redeem itself as suggested by the screenshots.

The earlier style did suit some crucial scenes, like chopping and rushing on the bicycle. But it did leave a choppy experience, considering it was used entirely in the episodes.

About The Way Of the Househusband

The Way of the Househusband is a comedy manga by Kousuke Onno. It was first serialized in February 2018 by Shinchosha and is currently ongoing. It was adapted into a Netflix anime series in 2021.

Immortal Tatsu is a retired yakuza who has chosen the life of a househusband over that of a gangster. He spotlessly finishes all household chores to support his wife, Miku.

His appearance is in stark contrast to his love for cute bentos and dogs. His run-ins with other yakuza often turn out to be a hilarious situation.
