Kisaki’s Secret Powers: Is Tokyo Revengers’ Antagonist also a Time Traveler?

One of the most evil and cunning antagonists in all of anime is Tokyo Revenger’s Kisaki Tetta, as throughout the series, Kisaki has been directly and indirectly responsible for more than half of the deaths in the anime.

Unlike other antagonists in anime, Kisaki uses manipulation skills to achieve goals.

The way he is always one step ahead of our time-leaping protagonist has left fans wondering whether Kisaki shares the time-travelling abilities like Takemichi or has any secret powers.

In this article, I answer all these questions and explore the possibility of Kisaki’s hidden powers and every other question surrounding his character.

1. Is Kisaki A Time Leaper?

Kisaki Tetta is not a time-leaper; this was proved in chapter 185 of the manga when Kisaki died after getting hit by a truck and didn’t come back. While Kisaki isn’t a time Traveller, he knows and understands the concept of time leaping.

Manga readers were shocked when, in chapter 183 of the manga, Kisaki reveals that he knows about Mitchy’s time leaping ability and is a time leaper.

But that lie quickly bites the dust when, during a chase between Takemichi and Kisaki, Kisaki gets hit by a truck and dies on impact.

Tetta was a prodigal genius nonetheless, as he always had a contingency plan for his backup plan for his main objective. Despite what our dumb protagonist did, Tetta consistently achieved his goal in every new timeline.

This makes Tessa’s character much more interesting as he consistently proves how intelligence can beat unexplainable powers like time travel itself.

2. Who Are The Other Time Leapers?

While Kisaki was not a time-leaper, Takemichi is not the only person who can jump through time. Other than Mitchy, there are two more time leapers that we know of.

The first is none other than Mikey’s older brother, Shinichiro Sano. We got to know about his abilities in chapter 271. The event takes place when Shinichiro hears about a man with time-leaping ability.

Shinochiro then goes to meet the man, who explains to him that to get this power, he has to kill the previous user. In desperation, Shinichiro kills the man and obtains the time-leaping ability.

The second was the aforementioned Original Time-Leaper, from whom Shinichiro obtained his abilities. The anime doesn’t tell us much about the Original Time-Leaper; all we know is that he was the first person in the manga that could time leap that we know of.

He was considered insane due to his crazy talk and lived under a bridge for the most part. After he refused to give up the power, he was killed by Shinichiro via a metal bat.

3. About Tokyo Revengers

Tokyo Revengers is a manga written and illustrated by Ken Wakui. It began serialization in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine on March 1, 2017, and ended its run in November 2022. It is compiled into 31 tankobon volumes.

The story revolves around Takemichi Hanagaki, who learned that Tokyo Manji Gang had killed his only ex-girlfriend from back in middle school. After learning about the incident, Takemichi was pushed from the railway platform.

Landing on the tracks, he closed his eyes, accepting his death, but when he opened his eyes, he had time-leaped 12 years into the past.
