First Episode of ‘Kingdom’ Season 5 Delayed Due to Devastating Noto Earthquake

Summary

  • ‘Kingdom’ was all set to premiere on January 6, 2024. However, it was delayed due to unfortunate reasons.
  • The NHK news coverage of Noto Earthquake occupied the time slot for the anime.
  • The anime is now rescheduled to air on January 14, 2024.

The previous season of Kingdom was released almost 2 years ago, and it ended on a cliffhanger. The anime had left the Koku You arc in between, and fans weren’t pleased with the long waiting time.

The fifth season was supposed to air on 6 January 2024, but it did not premiere at its preordained time slot. Fans were confused about the situation until this new information was released.

The official website for Yasuhisa Hara’s ‘Kingdom’ announced that the first episode of season 5 is delayed, and it will instead air on January 14, 2024, at 12:15 a.m. JST.

The anime was delayed as its time slot was occupied by NHK’s news coverage of the New Year’s Day earthquake at the Noto Peninsula in Ishikawa Prefecture.

The fifth season will focus on the Koku You campaign arc. It is crucial as we will witness the epic battle between Kan Ki and the Hi Shin Unit. This war will be critical for both Qin and Zhao.

While it will be a struggle waiting for the new season, especially after it was expected on January 6, the situations that led to the delay were unavoidable. We can only hope for the days to pass sooner.
