Will we see Kizaru vs. Luffy in Egghead? Who would win?

So far, the Egghead arc has given us a banger after banger in each chapter. The latest one especially had so much to unpack. We’re finally getting towards the most-awaited island: ELBAF – the island of giants.

But before that, an old enemy now stands in Luffy’s way. The Golden Monkey. The executioner of Lazy Justice. Borsalino Kizaru. So far, he has cornered Luffy twice with the latter running away.

Now you could argue that Luffy is now much stronger than before. With Gear 5, he did make quick work out of Kaido, a literal beast.

But you can’t deny Luffy’s reaction when he sensed Kizaru. “Someone’s here. Someone strong.” So, will he be able to defeat Kizaru this time? More importantly, will they even fight 1v1?

1. Will Luffy defeat Kizaru in Egghead arc?

Luffy will most likely defeat Marine Admiral Kizaru in the Egghead Island arc. This is since they have had two encounters in the past where Luffy was severely outclassed by the Golden Admiral.

Additionally, we saw Shanks outclass an Admiral in the previous arc so it stands to reason Luffy throws down with one as well.

Luffy has grown much stronger thanks to Gear 5 and his expertise in all three types of Haki.

However, Kizaru is also an incredibly strong character. We haven’t seen him much in action, though. It’s going to be epic when the showdown begins.

Luffy will face some challenges while fighting him as Kizaru hasn’t come alone to the Island. Gorosei St. Jaygarcia Saturn of the Five Elders, CP0, and a government agent have also tagged, along with others.

Luffy will be able to bring him down easily in a 1-on-1 situation, but it would be an arduous task if some others cause hindrances.

However, on the bright side, Vegapunk has developed a technology that can manipulate light, which could be a game-changer in the battle.

During his fight with Kiado, Luffy caught a dazzling lightning bolt and shot it toward Kaido.

Maybe in his fight with Kizaru, Luffy will be able to catch his light beams and shoot them back at him using Gear 5 or some Vegapunk gadget.

2. Will Luffy and Kizaru even fight?

Of course, there’s a very real possibility they might not even fight in the first place. And even if they do it’s not coming any soon.

Kizaru will first go through Sentomaru and have a whole “mini-arc” with his old friend before moving on to Luffy.

There have been many speculations about the main antagonist in the Egghead arc. Is it Rob Lucci, Dr. Vegapunk, CPO Admiral Kizaru, or Saturn?

There’s a possible theory that Kizaru is not the final boss. In that case, Luffy will go against Saturn.

Luffy is an evident threat to the World Government or the reign of Imu-sama, especially now that he has “truly” awakened his unique devil fruit.

We know that Gorosei and Imu have all the Zoan-type Devil Fruits. The world government had spent over 800 years hunting for the legendary Human-Human fruit “Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika devil fruit,”

Even Gorosei mentioned how this power was considered “the most absurd in the world.”

To keep this fruit’s existence under wraps, the government took extreme measures, renaming it the “Gomu Gomu no Mi” and classifying it as a Paramecia-type fruit to prevent its discovery in the devil fruit Encyclopedia.

Now that Vegapunk is about to ditch the World Government and join hands with the Starwhats, he will reveal the secrets about the Void century.

Hence Gorosei will have to intervene and do everything in his power to stop it from happening, which could lead to a one-on-one with Luffy.

In the end, Luffy and The Straw Hats will Tip the scales and turn the situation around, be it Kizaru or Saturn.

Luffy has grown quite strong now that he has truly activated his devil fruit, “Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika devil fruit.”. This insane power-up brought a yonko like Kaido to his knees.

I couldn’t stop laughing at the part where he grabbed Kaidou as if he were weightless and used him as a skipping rope with his technique Gum-Gum Jump Rope.

Earlier at the Marineford Arc, Luffy was hit multiple times by Kizaru, making him quite dejected, but Luffy has come a long way since then. The tide has changed.

Luffy’s Haki skills are off the charts. His Observation Haki is dialed in so tight that he can straight-up foresee the future.

He was able to stop Warden Babanuki’s Excite Shot before he actually launched the attack. How cool is that? He has mastered it after the wano country arc now.

Also, his Armament Haki! Man, it’s so strong, he can mess up his foes without even laying a finger on ’em.

For reference, he was able to withstand a hit from Kaidou’s kanabo in his ordinary form while  Kaidou was in his Human-Beast Form.

Earlier, he had been defeated by a mere strike from Kaido’s Kanabo while he was in his Gear 4 form.

His Conqueror’s Haki? Oh, it’s on a whole other level.

It’s already a rare type of Haki, and Luffy was able to infuse his body parts while fighting with Kiado. It was “clumsy,” as commented by Kaido.

However, when they clashed again, it caused the clouds to part as if the Heavens were split in half.

This was something that had occurred when the four emperors had clashed against each other or when the mighty Roger fought against them.

This obviously proves that Luffy has ascended to the level of the world’s strongest pirates.

3. How strong is Borsalino Kizaru?

Kizaru is one of the strongest guys in One Piece as he has possess the power of Pika Pika no Mi, a very rare type of Logia-type Devil Fruit that grants him control over light.

He can move at the speed of light, even faster than Sonic, and has sharp reflexes making it hard to hit him and difficult to catch off guard.

He can even shoot laser beams out of his fingertips and temporarily blind people with them. How awesome is that?

Despite his laid-back attitude and nonchalant demeanor, he is actually quite astute. He is a skilled tactician and fighter.

In addition, he can use Observation and Armament Haki, but much of it hasn’t been seen until now.

His devil fruit grants him both offensive and defensive capabilities.

He can blind opponents with intense light, create explosive energy attacks, and move swiftly across great distances.

He is a badass powerhouse, but his strength hasn’t been fully displayed yet. This makes it even more exciting as the upcoming chapters will show us what he is made up of.
