What will happen to Luffy and his crew in Elbaf?

The One Piece manga has been teasing us with the idea of Luffy and the crew visiting Elbaf since their adventures in the Grand Line and the New World. After two long decades, the Straw Hat Pirates are finally going to Elbaf Island.

Luffy could actually meet Shanks there. What’s more, is that the identity of the “Man marked with flames” could be revealed to be giant Jaguar D. Saul, as he is covered in scars since he survived the tragedy of Ohara.

He must have the information regarding the Last Road Poneglyph, which is integral for Luffy to reach Laugh Tale and uncover the Legendary One piece along with intel regarding the truth about Ohara, the history of the world, and potentially the Void century.

Since the manga is in its final saga now, after Egghead Island, we sail to Elbaf, which holds exciting secrets for the crew to discover. Take a look at what else could happen on Elbaf.

1. Reunite with their Giant friends

The Straw Hats first encountered the mighty giants in the Little Garden arc of Arabasta. There, they met two giants named Dorry and Brogy, who were fighting for about 100 years over something they had long forgotten.

Their strength and brute force inspired The Star Hats, especially Luffy and Usopp.

Moreover, Usopp had met two more giants, named Kashii and Oimo, in the Enies Lobby Arc, aka the Judicial Island Arc.

Here, the giants were supposedly fooled into believing that if they guarded the Judicial Island’s gates for a century, their previous captains would be released.

In reality, the World Government had lied and manipulated them into guarding the Gates because they were tremendously mighty warriors.

Usopp had figured it out and revealed it to the giants, who then aided the Straw Hats in their raid on their never-night Island.

Having made such loyal giant friends like Dorry, Brogy, Kashii, and Oimo, the Straw Hats would be delighted to reunite with them and spend some time celebrating and exploring their homeland, Elbaf.

2. Usopp’s chance to get better

We all know that it’s Usopp’s dream to become a “Brave warrior of the sea,” Just like his dad.

Despite this, we haven’t seen much character development in him, so Elbaf could be the place for Usopp to level up with his giant friends.

It’s something like what the Whole Cake Island Arc did for Sanji or what the Wano Arc should have done to Zoro.

The raw strength and pride of the giants- Dorry, Brogy, Kashii, and Oimo deeply inspired Usopp and ignited his flame to become better. He has always wanted to visit their homeland.

Once he is there, the setting would be perfect for him to train and learn from his giant friends and level up just like the other crew members.

3. Luffy reunites with Shanks

Shanks is Luff’s role model and holds a great place in Luffy’s heart. He was the one who inspired Luffy to become a great pirate and find the One Piece.

Here are some possibilities of what could happen regarding their reunion.

  • They could finally reunite on Elbaf as they had promised to meet once Luffy became a great pirate. He has become as strong as Yonko now, ready to earn the title of the Pirate King and uncover One Piece.
  • Shanks and his crew were last spotted on Elbaf Island, defeating the Kid Pirates. His crew was celebrating their victory with the giants.
  • However, there’s a chance that their union won’t occur at Elbaf, as Shanks and his crew might have wrapped things up and left already.
  • Also, their goals align, becoming the Pirate King and uncovering one piece. They might have a clash in the upcoming future to show that Luffy has finally surpassed his mentor.

A reunion will take place between Nico Robin and Jaguar D. Saul (former Vice Admiral), who had saved her in Ohara once he realized the evil actions of the Navy.

The World Government was destroying Ohara, Robin’s homeland, as they were studying about the Void century, which could reveal the truth, something that the World government couldn’t withstand.

In helping Robin, Saul had been frozen by Kuzan “Aokiji,” his former colleague Kuzan “Aokiji,” and was thought to be dead.

However, recently, it was revealed in Chapter 1066, “The Will of Ohara,” that Saul had survived the tragedy in Ohara and was frozen by Aokiji.

This news moved Robin to tears as Saul had an important place in her life and was why she was alive. So, we are bound to see a heartwarming reunion between the two.

5. Saul could have the last Road Poneglyph

With the Manga in its final saga, Luffy is the closest he has ever been to the One Piece.

The Road Poneglyphs is vital in discovering the One Piece as they will allow him to get to Laugh Tale, where the treasure is hidden.

As of now, Luffy has 3 Poneglyphs. He just needs to find the fourth one. That being said, at the end of the Wano country Arc, Kid revealed that he should seek the “Man marked by Flames.”

It adds up as Kid reached Elbaf to find the last Poneglyph and was defeated by Shanks and his crew.

Now that Vegapunk revealed that Saul is covered in burn marks because of the tragedy in Ohara, he must be the man marked by flames.

Also, Nico Robin is the only person alive who can actually read the ancient script inscribed on the Ponegylphs. Saul and her also share a deep bond, so Saul wouldn’t mind sharing the Ponegylph’s location.

It all falls into place as a puzzle, which is why Elbaf arc could be vital for Luffy to achieve his goals.

In addition, Saul had summoned his giant friends to retrieve all the books that could be salvaged from the library of Ohara during the tragedy in Ohara.

Saul possesses knowledge from Ohara, the truth of the world, its history, and the Void century.
