Which characters will die in Bleach finale?

Bleach had blessed its fandom and revived their excitement as it made a comeback after a literal decade. It returned with the Manga’s final Arc, the Thousand-Year Blood War, which covers volumes 55-74.

If Bleach, one of the Big Three, made a comeback, then perhaps “No Game No Life” anime fans also have a glimmer of hope.

Thousand-Year Blood War Arc basically revolves around the climactic battle between the Shinigami (Soul Reapers) and the Quincy. Both sides face the loss of life, and some of them are real tear-jerkers for the OG fans.

10. The soul king

The Soul King was a central character and pivotal to the storyline, he was an enigmatic deity-like figure in the anime.

His son Yhwach manipulated Ichigo into cleaving the Soul King in half and absorbed the Soul King’s power and abilities, making him invincible.

The Soul King’s death destabilized the world and released immense spiritual energy, triggering a series of events and battles that drive the climax of the “Thousand-Year Blood War” arc.

9. Genryusai Shigekuni Yamamoto

Genryusai Shigekuni Yamamoto, the Captain-Commander of the Gotei 13 and the head of the Soul Society, was one of Bleach’s best and most powerful characters.

Yhwach took down Genryusai, he used his power to steal the Bankai abilities of Yamamoto’s Zanpakuto, which significantly weakened the Captain-Commander.

In a climactic moment, Yhwach bisected Genryusai from his shoulder to his waist, leading to his death.

Yamamoto’s death profoundly impacted the Soul Society and the Gotei 13, as he was among the most respected and powerful figures in the Bleach universe. His death catalyzes further developments and battles in the arc.

8. Quilge Opie

Quilge Opie served as the leader of the Jagdarmee, a special unit of the Wandenreich, which is the organization of Quincy that opposes the Soul Reapers (Shinigami).

Quilge Opie was  killed by Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez, a former Espada and Arrancar.

After being trapped in Quilge Opie’s “Jail” ability, Grimmjow managed to get free, and during their fight, Grimmjow used his powerful and iconic Cero attack, “Gran Rey Cero,” to defeat Quilge Opie, resulting in his death.

7. Royd Lloyd

Royd Lloyd was a powerful Quincy and a member of the Wandenreich’s Sternritter. He had the “Y” – “The Yourself” and the cool ability to mimic others, down to their physical appearances.

He fought Genryusai Shigekuni Yamamoto while mimicking and putting on Yhwach’s appearance.

However, he couldn’t copy-paste Yhwach’s real power and was killed by Yamamoto’s final Zanka no Tachi, Kita move. At least on the verge of death, Yhwach commended his power and loyalty.

6. Captain Yachiru Unohana

Captain Unohana was known as Retsu Unohana. However, she was actually the captain of the 4th Division in the Gotei 13.

In the midst of the Thousand Year Blood War, Shunsui Kyōraku enlisted her aid to mentor Kenpachi Zaraki, guiding him to tap into his untapped power.

However, as tragic as it sounds, her own successor, Kenpachi Zaraki, took her life while he reached his full potential.

5. As Nodt

As Nodt was one of the Sternritter, a group of mighty Quincy warriors, and possessed a unique ability, “The Fear,” which allowed him to manipulate the fears of his opponents.

As Nodt was winning his battle against Rukia Kuchiki until Byakuya intervened and Rukia saw an opening to kill As Nodt with her new bankai, no Togame.

4. Bambietta Basterbine

Bambietta Baterbine was one of the Sternritter, a group of mighty Quincy warriors. She possessed the ability “The Explode,” which allowed her to turn anything she touched into an explosive, giving her formidable destructive power.

Captain Sajin Komamura killed Bambietta with his Bankai, “Kokujō Tengen Myō’ō.”

In the battle, Komamura uses his Bankai’s ability to sacrifice his own heart to deal a powerful, fatal blow to Bambietta.

3. Yhwach

Yhwach, aka the Juha Bach, was the central antagonist who possessed the “The Almighty” power, allowing him to see into the future and manipulate fate.

Yheach wanted to reshape the world by defeating the Shinigami and gaining control over the three worlds. He wanted to create a deathless world.

In the arc’s climax, Ichigo and his allies, including Uryu Ishida, launch a coordinated attack against Yhwach.

During this confrontation, Uryu Ishida, who possesses the “Anti-Thesis” ability, counteracts Yhwach’s power, temporarily nullifying him.

Then Ichigo delivered the final blow, defeating him. Yhwach’s body disintegrated and brought the Thousand-Year Blood War to an end.

2. Jugram Hashwalth

Jurgam Hashwalth was the most prominent member of the Wandenreich, a group of powerful Quincy. He was Yhwach’s right-hand man.

He was extremely loyal to Yhwach, even after he took the power of all the unworthy Quincy for his own selfish purposes.

While battling Uryu Ishida, Yhwach killed him by activating Auswählen; what an awful reward for such devoted loyalty.

Even while dying, Jurgam did not feel betrayed by Yhwach as he was a useful asset to him, and he didn’t mind sacrificing his life for his master.

1. Captain Jushiro Ukitake

Captain Jushiro Ukitake served as the captain of the 13th Division in the Gotei 13 and was known for his wisdom and benevolent nature. He was so strong that he was destined to take the Soul King’s place.

Ukitake’s health had deteriorated over the years due to a long-term illness, but he was saved by a deity and the soul king’s right hand named Mimihagi.

However, when Yhwach threatened the Soul King, Ukitake voluntarily relinquished the life he had received.

This selfless act came at a significant price but succeeded in delaying Yhwach’s schemes, granting Ichigo and his allies an additional opportunity to safeguard the world.

About Bleach

Bleach is a Japanese anime television series based on Tite Kubo’s manga of the same name. The anime series adapts Kubo’s manga and introduces some new, original, self-contained story arcs.

It is based in Karakura Town on a 15-year-old high school student, Ichigo Kurosaki, who becomes a substitute Soul Reaper when Rukia Kuchiki, a Soul Reaper, puts Soul Reaper powers in Ichigo. They barely manage to kill the hollow.

Although initially reluctant to accept the heavy responsibility, he begins eliminating some more hollows and discovers that several of his friends and classmates are spiritually aware and have their own powers.
