Goblin Slayer Season 2 Episode 2 Ending Explained

Goblin Slayer Season 2 is currently airing, and things just got more thrilling with episode 2 dropping out.

We see Goblin Slayer breaking down at the end of the episode as he sees himself within the new rookie, the Wizard Boy. Who wanted to save everyone and carries the scar of losing his elder sister.

This episode has a lot of character development, and we learn about the Wizard Boy’s identity. keep reading to find out more.

1. Goblin Slayer Season 2 Episode 2 Explained

Goblin Slayer Season 2 Episode 2 is definitely more exciting than the first one as we finally see things getting into action.

It’s full of action, humor, better blood work, and emotional growth seen in the characters.

In Season 2 Episode 2, the Goblin Slayers party heads a mausoleum to find out what happened to the party who went before them, which consisted of an Acolyte Priest Wizard, a Lizardman Warrior, a Priest Warrior, and two scouts.

There were women in the group, too, so you can see where it’s headed and that they were definitely killed or tortured.

The new Wizard Boy, the know-it-all archetype, is also in the group, and he is quite uninterested in speaking to the dwarf, their client, to gather information.

He is quite childish, and all he wants to do is slay the goblins, he is a little annoying, like a kid who tags along the elder siblings and jumps head into situations.

This is exactly what the Wizard Boy does, he walks straight into a trap that the High Elf Archer. His intentions were pure, though, he was burning with a desire to help and didn’t think at all.

Turns out there was a woman, literally pinned to the chair, and a goblin doing so. The Wizard boy used his fireball to kill it, but it was a distraction as the main boss here was a troll.

The Priestess led this quest, and she lost her calm in directing the dwarf shaman, probably because of the traumatizing incident happening to the novice wizard.

Goblin Slayer took charge of the situation; he lit up the troll using gasoline, heating him up and then freezing him with rain, thanks to our dwarf shaman.

He got this idea from the Ice treats from Water Town; this way, the troll’s body cracked, and he killed it.

The party returns with the rescued Acolyte and celebrates however, the Wizard boy and the priestess are in low spirits.

Wizard Boy acknowledged that it was his fault for rushing and ruining things and how he underestimated the Priestess.

The priestess also felt bad that she faltered during the quest and hadn’t grown much.

What’s surprising is the ending where Goblin Slayer breaks down.

2. Goblin Slayer Season 2 Episode 2 Ending Explained

At the end of the episode, we learn about the Wizard boy’s identity, he is the girl’s brother who was in a goblin slaying party that was killed in season 1 episode 1.

The very party of which the Priestess was a part of. This explains his rushed decisions that stemmed from his trauma of being unable to protect his elder sister, who was killed by goblins.

Ring any bells? This is also what the Goblin Slayer went through: the loss of his elder sister, whom he loved dearly.

He broke down emotionally as he was reminded of the raw fact that he can’t save everyone, and that the Wizard boy would become just like him.

He feels guilty for turning the Wizard Boy into someone like him, who once lost his humanity and became like a goblin, slaying them all the way.

His humanity was ignited upon meeting the priestess and the others. He never truly healed from his trauma and seeped through seeing the innocent Wizard boy in this situation.

This is a lot of character development in season 2, plus these emotional situations and trauma are something we all carry, this deepened our bond with the characters and got us attached to this great show, Goblin Slayer.
