Bleach TYBW has gained a lot of viewership as it has upgraded itself from the characters to the stunning visuals, alluring even newcomers to this franchise.
However, the anime adaptation for TYBW has made some significant changes from the manga, but on a positive note, it has added more kick to it.

7Uryu Discovers Yhwach’s Hidden Truth
In the Manga, Uryu learns the truth about what happens to the Sternritter’s abilities once they die from Yhwach’s right-hand man, Jugram Haschwalth.
He reminded him sternly that everyone in the Wandenreich devotes their life and dearth to Yhwach. No wonder Jaschwalth is his right-hand man.
However, when the Sternritters Cang Du and BG9 were being executed in the anime, Uryu asked Hashwalth if they really needed to kill them.
That’s where he learned the truth from Hashwalth that when the Sternritters die, their powers are absorbed by Yhwach, like a life source, to prevent him from reverting back to his prior weak state.
6Uryu’s role in TYBW
Uryu’s character hasn’t been given much importance in the Manga. After our guy Ichigo heads out to Hueco, Uryu disappears, only to reappear again as a member of the Wandenreich without much backstory.
However, in the anime, Uryu plays quite an important role. After Ichigo’s departure to Hueco, Uryu tries to uncover the truth behind Hueco Mundo in his grandfather’s journal.
He realizes the bitter truth that the Quincies and Soul Society will never be able to maintain peaceful relations, which affects his friendship with Ichigo and his mates. He became Ichigo’s rival and Yhwach’s successor.
5Ichigo in Irazu Sandō
In the Manga, after the initial invasion of the Soul Society, the Soul King Palace was like a safe haven for Ichigo and his friends. Thanks to the royal guard, aka Zero Division, they could also prepare and train before the subsequent invasion.
However, in the anime, Ichibē Hyōsube assesses their progress by making Ichigo enter Irazu Sandō, sort of like another dimension designed to test out the Soul King candidates.
Irazu Sandō has been animated beautifully and spans a few episodes where Ichigo faces weird hallucinations and visions.
4Rukia’s Enigmatic Attacker Revealed
Most of the initial attack on the Soul Society by Wandenreich wasn’t really depicted in the manga.
However, there was a scene in the manga during that battle where Rukia Kuchiki’s brother was on the verge of death at the hands of As Nodt; that moment of distraction created an opening for a mysterious Sternritter to defeat her.
In the anime, the identity of this mysterious Sternritter is revealed to be a member of the Bambies, Meninas McAllon, who possesses “The Power” or “P.”
3The Bambies Against Ichigo
In the Manga, the Bambies are a group of Quincy women who are members of the Wandenreich’s Sternritter, each possessing her own abilities. They are shown to attack Ichigo after he returns from the Soul King Palace.
Only Candice Catnipp, designated with “The Thunderbolt” or “T,” was strong enough to be able to scratch Ichigo. She even activated her Quincy “Völlstandig” but was defeated by Ichigo, obviously.
However, in the anime, it’s not only Candice facing off against Ichigo; she is joined by her group as well, and they all unleash their Quincy to defeat him. The anime does justice to depict their powers vividly, making it more engaging.
2Shinji Hirako’s Bankai Animated
Shinji Hirako, the captain of the 5th Division, Gotei 13, didn’t get much recognition in the manga.
Even though he did play a pivotal role in the invasions of Seireitei, he was depicted vividly in a clash with Gerard Valkyrie.
However, in the anime, we get to see him releasing his cool Bankai powers when he is surrounded by Soldat (soldiers from the Wandenreich).
His Bankai “Sakashima Yokoshima Happōfusagari ” converts his sword into a staff with a ring shape at the end while he stands on a flower figure.
1First Generation of Gotei 13 screentime
In the Manga, the Gotei 13, or the Thirteen Court Guard Companies, a primary military branch of the Soul Society, remains to be a mystery, and not much is depicted about them other than their silhouettes.
Yhwach commended the first generation of Gotei13’s battle prowess, which was founded by Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto
In the anime, though, they take it up a notch and sort of reveal the members who are cloaked. Their unique fighting style is also depicted in how ruthlessly they defeated the Quincy army, they were more like bloodhounds.

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War is the final arc of the Bleach franchise. It premiered on October 11, 2022, and its 52 episodes are streamed by Hulu.
The arc deals with Yhwach, the leader of the Quincies, who has declared war on the Soul Society. Ichigo and the Soul Reapers will face this despicable enemy.
Hollows and Soul Society residents are disappearing, and Ichigo needs to defeat Yhwach before he lays waste to the entire universe.
