Will there be Knights of the Zodiac 2?

Knights of the Zodiac live action movie dropped in the United States on May 12, 2023, and is available on Netflix for streaming.

There will probably be a Knights of the Zodiac 2 as there’s plenty of material left to capture the true essence of the original source, the “Knights of the Zodiac: Saint Seiya” manga.

It’s perfect for you if you’re a Greek mythology or astrology junkie, as Knights of the Zodiac is the perfect fusion of Knighthood and some action.

1. Has Knights of the Zodiac 2 been officially confirmed?

Knights of the Zodiac 2 has not been officially confirmed as of yet.

However, in an interview with Variety, and Ikezawa Yoshi, the international producer of Toei Animation, the following was revealed on July 21, 2022.

“The original manga runs to 28 volumes of comic books. The original anime series had 140 episodes, plus 30 or 40 sequels that belong to the original comic. So that’s nearly 200 episodes.

You can make many films with that. And, after the success of Marvel, studios are looking for properties that can make sequels, like “Harry Potter” or “Hunger Games.” We are looking at six movies as a package.”

He even mentioned this statement in his interview:

“ We made this film as a basis to make sequels ”

With this it’s evident that Saint Seiya has a lot of material to work on which obviously couldn’t be encapsulated in a single movie.

It sheds light that there could be 6 movies in fact, like a big franchise like Harry Potter or Hunger Games.

However, we should keep in mind that the reception of Knights of the Zodiac wasn’t immense, it was just about average with a rating of 4.4/10 on IMDb.

If Knights of the Zodiac 2 drops, then it will delve more into its rich history and introduce more characters like Shaina who is Seiya’s love interest, Gemini Saga, Andromeda Shun.

It would feature Seiya’s harsh training on his journey to become a knight in shining armor, which is exciting, and this could further ignite the flame of the fandom and allure them like a moth drawn to a flame.

2. About Saint Seiya

Saint Seiya, also known as Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac or simply Knights of the Zodiac, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masami Kurumada.

The manga was adapted into an anime television series by Toei Animation that ran from 1986 to 1989, before being continued in the form of three original video animation series between 2002 and 2008.

The story follows five mystical warriors called the Saints who fight wearing sacred sets of armor named “Cloths”.

The Saints have sworn to defend the reincarnation of the Greek goddess Athena in her battle against other Olympian gods who want to dominate Earth.
