Gosu was launched in 2015 on the Naver Webtoons platform. It is a sequel to Yongbi Bulpae (Yongbi the Invincible) which ran from 1998 to 2002. A side story Yongbi Bulpae Oejeon (Yongbi the Invincible: A Side Story) was also in serialization from 2006 to 2013.

The series has gained 1.4 billion views worldwide and is also available in English, Japanese, and Chinese. Gosu’s story concluded in April 2021.

Right from the introduction, the twist is unique in how the main character’s quest for vengeance gets interrupted too early. This is different from Vinland Saga’s initial story, where the plot was developed for a while and then reached a similar end.
