Ash Ketchum has finally become the world champion in the 132nd episode of Pokemon Journeys aired on November 11th of 2022. He finally achieved the title 25 years after the original series.
Ash has been declared the World Champion after he won the Masters Eight Tournament and has accomplished his goals. The episode’s release has however created multiple questions for the fans.
Is the 132nd episode the finale? Will the anime receive another season or maybe a reboot or is there anything left for Ash to do after becoming the World Champion? Dive in to find an answer to all these queries!
Pokemon Journeys will have another 3 episodes and the 135th episode will be titled ‘Pokémon! I’m Glad I Got to Meet You!!’. There is no official news about the continuity of the series yet.
Pokemon Journeys to Have 3 More Episodes!
Most Anime generally follow the trend of showing all their characters before a final goodbye. Pokemon Journeys did the same with episode 132 leaving fans thinking that it might be the last episode.
However, it has been revealed that Pokemon Journeys is gonna be having 3 more episodes. A preview for episode 133, Project Mew has been made available online and the episode will be aired on November 25, 2022.
The preview shows Goh and his team travelling through harsh terrains to find legendary Pokemon. The next two episodes will be aired on December 2nd and December 9th respectively.
Will there be a Reboot?
As Ash has already achieved his goals there is not much to capture moving forward. However, there might be a possibility of seeing Ash continue his journey as a Pokemon Trainer. The show might also focus on the Legendary Pokemon.
Another thing that is bugging people is the weird similarity in the titles of the first episode of the anime
titled, Pokémon – I Choose You! while the last episode which is set to release on 9th December is titled ‘Pokémon! I’m Glad I Got to Meet You!!’.
Many fans theorise that this could mean that the series is ending. On the other hand, there is also a possibility of replacing Ash with Goh as the main protagonist to start a reboot.
However, these are only speculations and we cannot confirm anything until official news is out. We have to wait till December 9th to find out if there is going to be a new season.
