One Piece has a very complex storyline and there are multiple voids in the timeline which are not yet revealed. The plot mainly focuses on the adventures of Strawhats and their journey towards finding the ultimate treasure, One Piece.

1. Ancient History!

Many years before the Void Century, the Great Kingdom was founded, most likely on Raftel. However, it only became super powerful around the Void Century which began around the year 600.

Given the immense power of the Great Kingdom, a 20 Kingdom alliance( which included Alabasta and Dressrosa)was formed to wipe out this nation. A “Great War” ensued between the alliance and the Kingdom.

The Great Kingdom crafted immensely powerful ancient weapons. One of them is an ancient weapon called Pluton which can wipe out an entire island. At the same time, the legendary mermaid princess developed the powers to command the Sea Kings and is named Poseidon.

During this time, Joy Boy makes a promise to the mermaid princess to raise a large ship called Noah from Fishman island to the surface. Due to some unknown events, Joy Boy is unable to keep his promise.

The city of Shandora is defeated by the alliance during this period and the alliance emerged victorious. Most of the Kingdom’s inhabitants were wiped out and the alliance joined the powers to create World Government.

To preserve the history, the stone masons of the Kozuki clan created Poneglyphs which are indestructible stones with the history of the Great Kingdom and also the location.

However, seeing this as a threat the World Government banned these Poneglyphs.
