Demon Slayer: To The Swordsmith Village premiered in US theatres on March 3, 2023, much to the delight and excitement of fans. The movie created a lot of buzz and received multiple positive reviews.
However, on the other hand, some fans feel like they have been tricked since the movie was mostly a recap and included one episode of original content. Many of them feel that the movie was just an unethical money grab. Is that really true? Let’s find out!

Why are some fans upset with the new Demon Slayer movie?
After the movie, Demon Slayer: To The Swordsmith Village hit the North American theatres many people expressed their disappointment. They felt tricked since the majority of the movie was just a recap of the second season and the new content was comparatively less.
Fans have also complained about the sloppy work and claimed that the editors didn’t even bother to remove the end credits scenes after each episode. It just didn’t seem the flow that is expected of a movie.
Demon Slayer Movie 2: Scam or not?
While the claims about the movie not being well together might be true, they are definitely not scamming people and neither is the movie an unethical cash grab!
The promotion for the movie made it very clear that it would predominantly be a recap of the entertainment district arc, with only one new episode from the upcoming season.
The production team and the studio were very transparent and didn’t resort to any trickery!
What was the possible problem?
Regular anime watchers are generally aware that promotional movies like this one often include recaps, however, some other fans might not be aware of such a situation and were probably caught off-guard when the recaps started playing.
After all, they have paid for the ticket without realizing that they have spent around $20 for a recap! While this may be a disappointing situation, the studio or the production teams are not to be blamed!
