Demon Slayer Season 2: Does it include the recap of the Mugen Train movie?

Demon Slayer’s second season aired on October 10, 2021, and ran until February 13, 2022, and was absolutely phenomenal. The art, animation, and character designs were all spot-on and it was a great watch.

The second season of the anime was split into two cours, the first part was mainly focused on the recap of the Mugen Train movie while the second part covered the Entertainment District arc. The anime series had more scenes added to provide better context.

Does Demon Slayer Season 2 recap the Mugen Train movie?

Demon Slayer Season 2 was set to cover the Entertainment district arc. However, before diving into the Entertainment District arc, the anime recapped the feature-length film of this franchise, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train. While the total span of season 2 is 18, the first 7 episodes are a recap of the Mugen Train arc.

The television series was animated by the same studio, Ufotable, that was responsible for the movie. The anime series also added some new bits which allow the audience to better explore the arc.

While the television series will be using animation from the movie that was produced by the same studio responsible for the show, Ufotable, it will also be adding in some new animation to perhaps further explore the Arc. Now, the franchise has revealed how many episodes will make up the television version of the Mugen Train as fans wait to dive in.

About Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Koyoharu Gotoge. Its publication in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump began in February 2016 and ended in May 2020 with 23 collected tankōbon volumes.

In a world filled with demons and demon slayers, Kimetsu no Yaiba follows the lives of two siblings Tanjiro and Nezuko Kamado after— the murder of their family at the hands of a demon. Their hardship does not end there, as Nezuko’s life is spared only for her to live as a demon.

As the oldest sibling, Tanjiro vows to protect and cure his sister. The story traces the bond of this brother-sister or better yet, demon slayer and demon combo against the odds of an arch antagonist and the society.
