Im’s identity is one of the major mysteries in One Piece. Since their introduction, we have come to know that they were involved either directly or indirectly in every major event that took place in One Piece.
Chapter 1084, which was released on May 22, 2023, was information-heavy and covered Sabo’s flashback. The chapter also introduced fans to some interesting revelations about the Void Century and dropped major hints on the identity of Im.

A major hint has been dropped about Imu, as they seem to be connected with the former Queen of Alabasta, Lili. The exact nature of this connection remains unknown; however, this information solidifies the claim that Imu is immortal.
Nefertari Lili and Her Connection With Im!
Chapter 1084 reveals the conversation that took place between Cobra and Gorosei. Cobra begins to question Gorosei by asking about the truth of Founding 20. It is revealed that 20 kingdoms made an alliance and formed the World Government to rule over the world.
They also created an Empty throne and vowed that none of the 20 kingdoms would ever try to usurp the throne. However, Queen Lily who was the ruler of Alabasta and part of Founding 20 refused to leave her kingdom.
This is the reason, you see only 19 swords in front of the empty throne and why the Nefertari family continues to rule over Alabasta. However, Cobra points out that there are no records of Lily coming back to Alabasta.
Instead, it was her brother who ruled in her place. Now, Gorosei tries to defend the claim and tells Cobra that she did make it home, but the records were erased.
Instead of arguing, Cobra decides to ask Gorosei about the meaning of ‘D’. It is revealed that Lily has written a short letter that has something to do with the ‘D’ people.
Before he could receive an answer, Imu walks in and sits on the Empty throne shocking everyone. He also takes Lily’s name which leaves Cobra completely dumbstruck.
This entire scenario leads us to think that Lily and Imu were connected and maybe even quite close. In one of the chapters, he is seen burning Luffy and Shirahoshi’s picture but doesn’t harm Vivi’s picture.
This also brings us to a conclusion that our initial theory about Imu being immortal is true, since he has been around during the Founding 20 and knew Lily. However, the exact connection between Lily and Imu is yet to be revealed.
What can be expected from Chapter 1085?
Chapter 1085 might focus on the mystery of Queen Lily’s disappearance and how she might be related to Imu. As we already know, Cobra will die sooner or later and this will be blamed on Sabo.
