Berserk of Gluttony is the story of Fate Graphite, who is deemed worthless as his skill does not give him valuable attributes. However, the true nature of his skill is discovered when he kills a thief and devours the man’s strength and soul.
The true hunger of Gluttony has awakened, and his fate has now flipped. Berserk of Gluttony is a series that is quite basic and resembles many shounen anime where the protagonist is initially powerless.
Despite being basic, this series manages to be entertaining as it executes the elements quite well. Back in July, Crunchyroll announced an October premiere for the anime, now the official website is back with more details.
The official website for Berserk of Gluttony released the anime’s main promotional video. The video revealed additional cast and the opening theme song “Jekyll & Hyde” by EverdreaM.
The main promotional video of Berserk of Gluttony features all the major characters. The footage shows Fate going from a timid “useless” person to discovering the true nature of his skill. He goes badass and is seen fighting all sorts of monsters including Goblins.
The video introduces two new characters, Myne and Eris. A romantic development between Myne and Fate is also indicated. The theme song is super catchy and adds to the excitement of the video.

As previously stated, this is basic anime, however it is thrilling and manages to keep you engaged with the story. Also, we never get tired of the “weak protagonist turning OP” trope as long as it is well done.
The premiere of the anime is close, and it is totally worth giving it a try.

Berserk of Gluttony is a light novel series written by Isshiki Ichika and illustrated by fame that came out in November 2017. It received a manga adaptation by Daisuke Takino in March 2018.
The story follows a castle’s gatekeeper, Fate, who was born with an ability that always keeps him hungry. After being thrown out of his village and bullied daily, Fate finally discovers the true potential of his ability when he kills a thief.
Fate’s skill allows him to devour a person’s soul and skills which satiates his hunger. Now aware of his power, Fate goes on a killing spree to become powerful and earns the title of ‘Berserk of Gluttony.’
