Netflix is bringing us some of the more unique and exciting stories in recent times. Onmyōji is one such series based on a classic light novel. It is based on the levels in a fictional version of Japan’s Heian period and centers on the real-life onmyōji Abe no Seimei.

Netflix began streaming a new English-subtitled trailer of Baku Yumemakura’s Onmyōji novels. The video reveals and previews Ling Tosite Sigure’s theme song. Netflix will stream the series worldwide starting on November 28.
The brief 2-minute trailer features the main character, Abe no Seimei, and his interaction with a demon born of grudge and jealousy. He is a famous master of onmyoji known for exorcising monsters.
The trailer also introduces Minamoto Hiromasa, who seeks help from Seimei to annihilate a demon. Seimei, however, explains that it is not enough to annihilate a demon; it is essential to purify and exorcise it.
Abe no Seimei and his partner, Minamoto no Hiromasa, go on to become a part of a supernatural detective agency. Together, they go on an adventure to exorcise demons.

About Onmyoji
Onmyoji is a series first written by Yumemakura in 1968. He then wrote three full-length novels for the franchise, in 2000-2008. The book series also includes several picture books. The series is scheduled for release on November 28, 2023.
Onmyouji tells the story of renowned onmyouji Abe no Seimei, who meets and befriends the bumbling court noble Minamoto no Hiromasa. Together, they defend Heian-capital kyou’s from an opposing onmyouji, Douman, who is secretly plotting the emperor’s demise.
