Creator of ‘Fairy Tail’ Turns Heads With His New Game Project

Hiro Mashima, the creator of popular manga like Fairy Tail and Edens Zero, is an avid fan of video games. This was revealed when he talked about his top games for 2021 with great enthusiasm. He also developed an Edens Zero game using RPG Maker back in 2021.

It is no surprise that this artist has been trying his hand at other game projects.

Hiro Mashima took on the challenge of creating an original 3D game with Unreal Engine 5. He has been releasing YouTube videos chronicling his game development since September 2022.

There are already two seasons’ worth of videos about his game development, and the third season began in November. New episodes are released every Wednesday.

Season 1 saw Mashima learning to create 3D environments and levels using the game engine, while Season 2 had the artist creating original 3D characters using the computer graphics software Blender.

In this new season, he is looming towards wrapping up the development of his game. Only the first four episodes of the third season have Japanese subtitles so far. However, the first two seasons are on the Kodansha Creators’ Lab YouTube channel with English subtitles.

Most of Mashima’s fans have been religiously following his videos and have become a part of his game development process. All the fans eagerly look forward to the third season and are excited about how Mashima will wrap up the game development.
