Hijack Episode 6 Recap & Ending Explained: A Woman Named Amanda

Just one hour is left for Flight KA29 and its passengers before they meet their ultimate fate. This week’s episode starts with the same dilemma for the British authorities, i.e., either comply with the hijackers’ demands and free the prisoners or risk the lives of the hostages on board.

Their strategy is to stall for time, hoping to gain more insight into the situation and find a way out. Meanwhile, Sam Nelson continues to use his cunning and charm to manipulate Stuart. However, neither Sam nor his captors know what is in store for them, and it was unanticipated!

1. Who Leaks the News of the Hijacking to the Media?

In episode 6, a shady journalist called Devlin has the ace cards in his hands as he claims to know that Flight KA29 is hijacked and reports it to Felix.

Devlin has a vested interest in this calamity, and he blackmails Felix to break the news to the world within half an hour, or else he will expose Felix’s involvement in a previous insider trading scam.

Is Felix working for the terrorists? Or is he just a pawn who happens to know the right information at the right time and is milking it?

It is unclear whether Devlin was working for Edgar, but he does make a mysterious phone call after Felix leaves, saying that his part is done.

Finally, Felix has no choice but to tweet about the hijacking, and the news spreads like wildfire, causing panic and confusion.

Perhaps freeing Edgar Janssen and John Bailey-Brown from prison is not the ultimate goal of this sinister plot but rather a means to an end that no one has anticipated. Just one more week to go before we find out what that is!

2. Zahra and Edward’s Cat-and-Mouse Chase

Neil tries to act smart in this week’s episode but complicates things further. We come to know that he only pretends to agree with the hijackers’ demands, but he secretly has a backup plan. He plants a second tracker in Edgar Janssen and John Bailey-Brown’s car and secretly follows their every move.

Edgar senses that Daniel is tailing him and ditches his phone on the way. He confronts Daniel and threatens to kill the plane’s passengers if he detects police interference.

Meanwhile, Daniel tries to persuade Zahra and her team, but they are determined to follow their own strategy. This starts a cat-and-mouse chase between the three parties as things reach the boiling point.

Zahra and her team figure out that the two convicts are heading to the airport, where a private jet awaits them.

On reaching the airport, Edward’s car is surrounded by police officers, and that’s where the trickery happens. They realize that the two convicts have switched cars at some ambiguous instant and have gotten away.

Zahra realizes that Edgar took the farm road on purpose, as another car was waiting for him and his partner. They got into that car and vanished without a trace.

3. The Mysterious Woman

When we face impossible situations like the hijacking in this series, we tend to assume that the culprits have the upper hand and that we only succumb to fear.

However, Sam Nelson repeatedly demonstrates that he can outsmart the terrorists with his exceptional manipulation skills.

Ultimately, the hijackers were also human beings who needed someone to confide in and rely on. Sam Nelson has earned their trust, and he was able to influence their decisions.

In episode 6, Edgar, who was in contact with Stuart on the plane, demands that he execute one of the passengers and send him a photo as proof of his seriousness. Stuart is reluctant to kill anyone, and Sam senses his hesitation.

He grabs the opportunity and tells him that he has a way out of this dilemma. The hijackers had already taken a woman’s life earlier, and Sam persuades Stuart to use her photo instead, knowing that Edgar will not be able to tell that she was not a recent victim.

However, Sam knows that the boss will not stop at one demand. Sensing the danger, he realizes that the best way to act is to launch an attack and take back the plane. Otherwise, all the passengers will be killed one by one.

He devises a secret signal: an empty bottle with a tagline that read, “Get ready to shake things up.” Sam passes it around to the other passengers, hoping they understand the signal.

Edgar finally sends another message to Stuart, ordering him to execute another passenger. In a dramatic turn of events, Stuart aims his gun at Sam, but Deevia, the flight attendant, intervenes. She reminds Stuart that Sam tried to save his brother’s life. This throws Stuart into a spiral, and he starts yelling. In an utterly desperate state, he demands that one passenger volunteer to die.

Sam and the others seize the situation and overpower the terrorists, one at a time. Sam demands Stuart’s gun, thinking it is the only real weapon in the flight. However, his calculations backfire this time, and very badly.

Apart from the terrorists, at least two other people on the flight are part of the gang. Seeing the situation get out of hand, a woman called Amanda gets up and runs toward the cockpit.

She shoots Robin Allen point blank and locks the door behind her. This makes Sam realize that the terrorists have no idea about these camouflaging people, and things really go from bad to worse.

Next week, we will get to know whether Sam will be able to deal with this final threat or die trying. Stay tuned for next week for Hijack’s finale!
