Pandemonium rules in this week’s episode of The Morning Show as major controversies encroach the lives of UBA employees, and there’s chaos everywhere.
Episode 8, titled ‘DNF,’ focuses on the iconic Roe vs. Wade case while spending significant time on the assortment of controversies left unaddressed so far. Chris’ controversial post has left the entire fraternity dumbfounded, and the episode starts with her getting attacked by a protestor, who hurls red paint (possibly even blood) at the host.
However, Alex’s scandal with Paul Marks makes the front page. The photo of them kissing has just gone viral, and the timing is terrible because her interview with Marks is supposed to drop any week! Although Cory thinks it’ll be a giant crowd magnet amid the ongoing scandal, Alex wants it discarded entirely.
Meanwhile, Alex wants to focus on the SCOTUS story and commands Chip to find someone else for her Unfiltered Show. This creates a barrier between the two as Chip struggles to find any significant guest for his show.
However, moments before her live interview, Alex’s esteemed guest cancels. Chip offers a different interviewee instead, but that spells an imminent disaster. Alex isn’t prepared enough for this sudden change of plans, and the interview turns out to be a trainwreck.
Afterward, Alex and Chip have a terrible fight over this interview, and the former fires Chip out of the blue. It is sad to see a friendship meeting such a sticky end, but Chip hasn’t supported Alex enough to warrant a personal favor, has he?
Paul’s day hasn’t been flowery either. He’s turned up drunk for a photo shoot with Cory, and his rocket launch has been delayed. Moreover, Amanda informs him that Kate’s firing might bite him back pretty soon!
Paul’s misery is followed by a montage of altercations that have all been at the heart of this season. Laura investigates Bradley’s emails and discovers the cover-up between Bradley, Hal, and Cory. Meanwhile, Cory and Paul get into an acidic argument in the photoshoot, where Cory threatens the latter.
