Venom 3 is officially getting a delayed release date amid the entire SAG-AFTRA and WGA strike conundrum.
Not even 24 hours have passed since the SAG-AFTRA strike officially ended, and Sony Pictures has already announced their flagship Venom 3’s new release date.
Instead of the 2024 summer, Venom 3 will officially be released on November 8, 2024.
Also, Deadline’s sources claim that Venom 3’s production will resume this week, but we haven’t got word from Sony yet.
Venom 3 is set to be the trilogy’s final installment, which means Tom Hardy’s time as the black devil will end after an incredible run. Currently, we have no official plot details, including the villains who might feature in the film or its connection with the Spiderverse.
While the die-hard fans out there might feel disheartened by yet another delayed release, it might actually be beneficial for the movie.
Superhero movies have suffered a lot lately due to rushed productions and half-baked plots owing to severe time crunch.
Whether it be crooked VFX or last-minute reshoots, 2023’s comic book films have been a hit or a miss due to impossible deadlines. Therefore, the standards of superhero films have taken a massive dip of late.
Although Venom 3 is resuming production this week, we don’t know how much of the filming has already been done. By having some extra months to work on, Sony Pictures is ensuring that they have a better end product when Venom 3 hits the theaters.
Since this will be the last installment of the threequel, the production team is trying to ensure they have extra time to perfect the finale!
A final positive takeaway is that set photos and videos will soon be spread across the internet after filming resumes. So, fans can use them as appetizers until the main course comes out next year.
