Suits Star Expresses Her Desire to ‘Suit Up’ for the Upcoming Spin-Off

Suits star Sarah Rafferty finally reveals whether she will reprise her role as the fan-favorite Donna Paulsen in the upcoming spin-off or not.

Written by Aaron Korsh, the legendary franchise features Mike Ross, a college dropout, and how he makes it big as a lawyer without ever attending law school. 

The 9-season-long legal drama has recently climbed to the top of Netflix’s viewing charts, thus prompting Korsh to start working on a new spin-off. 

The Wrap recently interviewed Rafferty on her upcoming Netflix show, My Life With The Walter Boys, where she also spilled the beans on her comeback in the Suits spin-off. 

The actress was sincere and unequivocal in her response. Here’s her quote on playing Donna in the future:

Donna lives in my heart always. I’m always open to let her out to play.

Suits’ renewed popularity on Netflix was enough for the streaming giant to confirm a spin-off to make this wave as lucrative as possible. Thus, the show was announced right after the WGA strike and fast-tracked by NBCUniversal. It was also reported that the project will not be a direct continuation or a revival of Suits but a standalone story set in the same universe as the canon. 

In short, we can expect a crossover of various characters and easter eggs, but the core story will be independent from Suits. Beyond this, we don’t have much information on the plot of the new series. 

Moreover, the NBCUniversal show doesn’t even have a confirmed home yet. It means we aren’t even sure whether it’ll end up in broadcasting platforms like NBC or streaming platforms like NBCU’s Peacock or Netflix. 

Also, it is too early to predict whether the main characters like Gina Torres, Amanda Schull, Meghan Markle, Rick Hoffman, or even Macht Adams will make a cameo. 

However, Sarah Rafferty’s words clearly indicate that she’s ready to revisit her time as Donna if the story allows it.
