Emotional ‘Young Sheldon’ S7 Trailer is a Nostalgic Ride into the Cooper Family

The new ‘Young Sheldon’ season 7 trailer is a heartwarming journey that revisits the origins of Sheldon and looks forward to the prequel’s final year. 

If the show follows ‘Big Bang Theory’s’ timeline, Sheldon will wrap up his childhood and move to California at the end of season 7. Therefore, CBS has been hyping the February 15 premiere with a montage of promos and PR stunts.

‘Young Sheldon’s’ official Instagram account has recently shared an emotionally surcharged trailer that dives down the memory lane and shows some of the best moments of Sheldon and the Coopers. Take a look at it:

The clip features a few new scenes where Sheldon is back in Texas and takes us on a rollercoaster ride filled with nostalgia. It also features a new family photo, including Baby Cece and Mandy. 

Unlike ‘Big Bang Theory’s’ multi-cam approach to storytelling, CBS decided to follow a single-cam approach for ‘Young Sheldon’. This allowed the show to have a more serious tone as we progressed in the story. 

Although the first few seasons leaned on comedy, it slowly transformed into a family drama and emphasized more on the family dynamics of the Coopers. This approach also helped the makers to tackle serious elements like marital woes and teenage pregnancy.

Considering what season 7 has in store, it will be the most emotionally draining season of ‘Young Sheldon’ yet. Firstly, it will have to feature George’s death, and that’s something the creative team can’t skip. Secondly, Sheldon moving out to Pasadena will be another big blow for the Cooper household. 

Finally, fans have welcomed the shift to more serious storytelling. Season 6 posted series-high ratings, showing that the viewers loved this shift from silly comedy. Combining that with the series’ recent success on Netflix, we can assume that season 7 can provide ‘Young Sheldon’ the blockbuster ending it deserves.
