Percy Jackson and the Olympians E8 Speculation: Who is The Traitor?

Summary:

  • After returning from the Underworld, Percy, Annabeth and Grover get a hero’s welcome back at Camp Half-Blood.
  • However, the Oracle’s prophesy still perplexes Percy. He doesn’t know who the traitor is.
  • In the end, he’ll realize that the traitor is Luke Castellan. Luke has stolen the Master Bolt because he works for Kronos.

‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ has reached its peak in this week’s episode, with the iconic trio finally breaking into Hades’ Underworld.

Moreover, Percy realizes that Kronos’ is the mastermind behind the Lightning Bold debacle because of his longstanding grudge against his children.

However, who’s his ally? And how’s he doing this without coming into the spotlight?

In this update, I’ll discuss all the questions that must be answered in the season finale.

Without any ado, let’s get started!

1. Episode 8 Synopsis/Speculation

Kronos | Source: CBR

The season finale will start with Percy, Annabeth, and Grover getting a hero’s welcome into Camp Half-Blood after completing their quest. All the camps will rejoice in celebration, except Ares’ for obvious reasons!

However, the Oracle’s prophecy will keep bugging Percy even after everything ends. Who’s the friend that betrayed him? Who was the actual thief of the Lightning Bolt?

According to the canon book, the real traitor in the film is Luke Castellan. Yes, the same Luke who was like an elder brother to Percy when he went to camp for the first time.

Luke will try to ambush Percy in the forest and kill him using a scorpion. However, Percy will hobble back to camp and will be saved by Chiron.

So, why did Luke betray everyone? Turns out that Luke serves Kronos and thinks that Gods are a waste of space.

After this incident, Luke will leave Camp Half-Blood to serve Kronos forever.

Will the series follow the finale arc as the book? Guess we’ll have to wait till the finale for that!
