Set to be released in 2023 on the eve of Naruto’s 20th anniversary, a new installation to the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm series was announced.
Bandai Namco Entertainment announced at PlayStation’s State of Play event the latest release to the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm title. Bearing the title “Naruto X Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Collections”, it expands to the next generation, as per the anime.
It has been close to six years since the release of the last title “Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4” along with its Road to Boruto expansion pack.
Curtains were drawn on the series after this. However, a return to such a popular franchise seemed inevitable. The developers CyberConnect2 utilized that time to focus on other anime-based games like hack, Dragon Ball Z, Demon Slathe yer, and Jojo’s Bizzare Adventure Franchise.
The upcoming game is expected to not only pay homage to the journey up until now but also lay foundation for the future and expand it to the next generation of Boruto.
Reportedly, Naruto X Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Collections features all 124 ninjas from the previous title and more. This comes atop edited scenes from all four previous ultimate Ninja games’ story modes.
New fighters will also be added, with the gods Ashura Otsusuki and Indra Otsutsuki being the first confirmed additions. An original story mode will also be available that will be original even to Naruto and Boruto manga and anime fans.
The game will also have new visuals and 60FPS on next-gen consoles. The Uchiha family are also set to have their own special combo jutsu. Thus, expectations have been set high after the success of the previous titles.
While many fans may be disappointed at the lack of continuity from the previous title, CyberConnect2 is looking to give the series a fresh spin.
It would refresh the game’s community and allow players to relive their childhoods with the beloved game, based on their beloved characters from the manga and anime, and play Ultimate Ninja Storm with their friends again.
