Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 prices leaked, alleged to be around $749

Nvidia is consistent with its performance and is a leader in the GPU market. However, great performance comes at an equally greater price.

Recently, Youtube Channel “Moore’s Law is Dead” leaked the prices for Nvidia’s new GeForce RTX 4070, coming out next month. According to the reports, Nvidia has split the reviews into two parts with the latter set to cost an extra premium for 13th of April. Nvidia has reportedly told AIBs that they can only include the cards that don’t cost more than $749.99.

RTX 4070 Pricing Leak: Nvidia's INSANE Pricing Continues...

This means that the Reference models of the RTX 4070 are set to be coming in at $749.99 while the “Custom/Premium” Models are weighing in at a hefty $799.99.

The gaming community has noted that this pricing is just $50 short of the 4070 Ti, with the premium coming in at the same price as the RTX 4070 Ti.

Specs for the rumored RTX Lineup

This sees the price increase by a solid 50% from the previous gen RTX 3070, making it almost $250 more expensive. The prices may change but this could be a close approximation.

Benchmarks did show that the 4070 Ti ended up close to the RTX 3090 in terms of performance. The 4070 is a scaled-down version of the card, with performance between RTX 3080Ti and RTX 3080.

While the RTX 3080 and its Ti variant are out of stock mostly, with an MSRP of $600-$850 when available, it gives us a peek into Nvidia’s thinking before pricing the 4070 so high.

One more key factor is that none of the competitors, Intel or AMD, have cards under $900, the cheapest RDNA3 comes at a hefty $849.99, while price cuts bring it down to only as much as $800.

The 4070 Ti boasts the new “Ada Lovelace” architecture and uses 4nm TSMC nodes. It also comes with 7680 CUDA cores and 12GB of GDDR6X memory and RT and Tensor cores.

The RTX 4070 is expected to offer the AD103-250/251 GPU core with 5888 CUDA cores and a similar 12GB GDDR6 VRAM clock of 21Gbps. There was also a Founders edition based on the PCB boards that were leaked.

Rumoured release times for the GPUs

The pricing, while not very competitive, is reasonable because of the performance and a 10% reduced TGP from the previous generation. It will be interesting to see in which direction the scale tips for Nvidia.
