Season 4 of Overwatch 2 is just around the corner, and the developers Blizzard have revealed a new support hero for the upcoming season.
The name of the upcoming character is Lifeweaver, set to be a support class character. With flowing well, styled hair and a robe to match with floral motifs, he has an aura of swagger.
Lifeweaver will be the 37th on Overwatch 2’s roster and overall, the 9th support hero. Since the October launch, Blizzard has lived up to their pledge to expand the support roster further with the release of the tank Ramattra and support Kiriko.
The developers teased, “Lifeweaver is about to blossom.” Based on the tweet, the lotus motif and Thai elephants seen in the background make it pretty evident that the new character is set to be from Thailand.
It was also mentioned by the developers that more details will be revealed on Tuesday, 4th April. Based on the leaks, however, there has been a fair amount of speculation.
It is said his rumored abilities include:
- Passive Parting Gift – he leaves a healing item when eliminated, usable by either team.
- Petal Platform dropping when heroes on either team step on them.
- Life Grip – creates a shield for a targeted enemy, pulling them towards you.
- Rejuvenating Dash – Allows the player to get a small burst of healing when they dash out of danger.
- Ultimate Tree of Life – Placing this tree anywhere on the map disrupts opponents while simultaneously healing teammates nearby.
They might either have to pay up to unlock the support character or grind their way up the battle pass, like in season 3. It is expected that for Season 4, the method of unlocking characters will remain more or less similar, despite being a change that’s unpopular amongst the community.
Lifeweaver’s story is unknown as of now. A strong gripping tale is to be expected. This would keep with Overwatch 2’s trend of giving the characters a story full of hardship, war, friendship, and clashing cultures.
A week’s wait until the launch of Season 4 will be all it takes to play with Lifeweaver and many more characters, including Canadian rail-gun-carrying Sojourn, scattergun-blasting Junker Queen and Kiriko
