AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT GPU gets a price cut along with others

GPU prices generally don’t drop below MSRP. Fueling this primarily was the crypto mining boom, leading to an increase in the price of GPUs, making life hard for enthusiasts.

However, the situation seems to be improving, with many cards coming in at or lower than the manufacturer’s suggested retail price or MSRP.

Recently, the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT saw its price reduced to USD 762 from USD 899, which is a 15% decrease. This was by XFX’s official Amazon Store, which offers their RX 7900 XT Speedster Merc 310 Ultra for just USD 761.99, the lowest in the market for any RX 7900 XT in the market.

The price cut announcement for the Radeon RX 7900XT GPU

This card, based on the Navi 31 XT architecture, comes with 5376 Stream Processors and 20GB of GDDR6 memory on the chipset.

This card is also factory overclocked to 2535 MHz – a 6% overclock. It comes equipped with a 2.7-slot triple fan cooling. As per the standard, the Merc 310 comes with three DisplayPort 2.1 ports and one HDMI 2.1 output.

While AMD’s MSRP was USD 899, the card launched at USD 949 on Amazon, reaching the MSRP a month after launch. The change of USD 137 corresponds to 15% compared to AMD’s MSRP.

On the CPU front, AMD has announced that they have sorted out the availability of the 16-core Ryzen 9 7900X3D and 7950X3D SKU is back in stock. These CPUs were also handed a price cut.

The 7900X3D CPUs by AMD receiving price cuts

As seen on Newegg, a USD 25 promo code on the Ryzen 7950X3D effectively brings the price to USD 675, the lowest price yet for the CPU. However, it doesn’t seem to be a permanent price cut yet.

The Ryzen 9 7900X3D’s price has been cut to USD 545 at MicroCenter, a USD 50 discount from the official MSRP. This leaves their sibling – the 8-core Ryzen 7 7800X3D the only undiscounted CPU from the series.

The price cuts only point to a series-wide price reduction in the GPUs and CPUs by AMD. This will surely heat the competition in the GPU and the CPU segment.
