Genshin Impact’s proactive leaker community never fails to disappoint. With so many player powers and abilities leaked in the past, the leakers are at it again with the upcoming banner.
In a recent leak, a credible leaker HutaoLover77 via UncleYC on Twitter, revealed two characters who will be featured in Genshin Impact version 4.0, reportedly coming on August 16th, 2023. The first Fontaine update will include the community-loved sibling duo of Lyney and Lynette.
Lyney and Lynette had their first appearance way back in the covid times of 2020. Since then, they have been rumored to be added to the playable roster of players.
This would be in keeping with the other rumor wherein they are mentioned to be featured in the same banner. This would make more sense given that Lyney and Lynette are of opposite rarities.
As revealed by another leaker @merlin_impact, Lyney will be a five-star character using Pyro vision and the second five-star Pyro character to wield the bow after Yoimiya.
His sister, Lynette, will have a lower four-star rarity. An Anemo sword user will make her the first four-star unit to have this element and weapon combination.
Travelers can grab the sibling duo with a single pull of the same banner. Lyney will be the main DPS character in Genshin Impact.
This gives reason to the fans to believe that he could have a similar kit to Yoimiya – generally the primary damage dealer in most parties. Based on the information that we have as of now, his overall damage numbers are superior to Tighnari’s.
The numbers, however, fall short of Ganyu’s. What has surprised most fans is the absence of the Hydro element for either of these characters, even though it’s Fontaine’s representative element.
These should be taken with a grain of salt, being rumors and leaks. However, there’s sufficient precedent to conclude that these rumors generally have some element of truth in them.
