Domain name inspection reveals a Potential Persona 5 universe release

Barely anything escapes fans in today’s world. They go to any length to find minuscule details about their beloved games. In this case they used, domain registration, just as we’ve seen before in the case of Pokemon Sleep.

Recently, Twitter user @MbKKssTBhz5 spotted a domain registration on 16th May 2023 bearing the domain name P5T.JP, hinting towards the launch of Persona related activity. While the details of ownership are hidden from the general view, the address of registration is shown to be in Shibuya-Ku city of Japan, which is where Ryu’s Office is located, which is Persona’s developers Atlus’ marketing business partner.

Atlus had several of its titles potentially known to the broader audience before its announcement in 2017 because of the registration of domain names for its upcoming Persona titles.

As a result, in December 2021, Atlus began to hide the registrant information and redirected the domains to be registered via their marketing business partner Ryu’s Office.

Several other Persona related domain names registered in 2017 and 2018 have not been used yet. This means that they did not translate into actual projects.

Atlus’ survey that expressed the consumer interest in different products

These include P3RE, that was registered in March 2023, P5U, P5B, P5M, PERSONA6, PERSONA8, PERSONA9, PERSONA10. This could be a defensive move by Atlus to protect their existing trademarks and inhibit copies of their official website.

Another plausible explanation is that Black Wings’ upcoming Mobile Game: Persona 5: The Phantom X, just ended its beta testing in mid-April and is set to use this domain.

With the upcoming PlayStation showcase on May 24th, it’s unclear whether Atlus will participate. However, Persona fans might not have to worry for long as the good news is hopefully around the corner.
