Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Datamine Hints at Future DLC or amiibos

Nintendo’s latest in-house production, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom on the Nintendo Switch, has become the fastest-selling Nintendo videogame of all time. It sold 10 million copies in its first three days to steal the crown from Super Smash Bros Ultimate.

Now, an avid data miner and YouTuber Lootward, hints at a future DLC for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom that will include two skins that already have in-game models but cannot be unlocked through normal gameplay. These two skins, belonging to Princess Zelda and Gerudo King, bear ID numbers 1049 and 1050, respectively.

ALL 53 Paraglider Fabrics, Skins Showcase Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

Some fans pointed out that all paragliders in Tears of the Kingdom follow a simple numbering system. Hence, the unused models might hint at upcoming amiibo figurines.

This is proven by the fact that the index just before Princess Zelda’s unused skin, i.e., 1048, unlocks Champion’s Tunic Fabric when its amiibo is scanned.

This amiibo theory is consolidated because the presently available paraglider fabrics with “Princess” or “Gerudo” in the name are available as unique drop rewards for scanning some Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom amiibo.

The amiibo bearing “Princess” or “Gerudo” in the name includes the Princess of Twilight, Hyrule-Princess, Gerudo, and Gerudo Champion.

Thus, if the amiibo theory is to be believed, the data-mined fabrics provide some insight to what the design of the upcoming amiibos would be like.

Some keen-eyed fans also pointed out that Princess Zelda’s paraglider appears based on Zelda’s Zonai outfit. At the same time, Gerudo King is inspired by Ganondorf’s look from certain Tears of the Kingdom cutscenes.

Even though the amiibo theory is more probable in this case, fans hope to get a DLC to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom soon.

The Breath of the Wild expansion pass was originally announced two months after the previous Zelda title’s release. So, fans can hope for some DLC news for Tears of the Kingdoms around July.
