Silent Hill 2 is a survival horror game developed by Team Silent, a part of Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo, published and distributed by Konami. It originally came out for the PlayStation 2.
A remastered version had also been released earlier for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2012 as a part of the Silent Hill HD collection. A remake of Silent Hill 2 has been in the works for a while now.
A new leak by Comicbook spots Silent Hill Remake 2’s pre-order available on an Australian game retailer – Gorilla Gaming’s website. The pricing is a hefty USD 89 for the PS5 version of the game. The expected release date has been set as 29th September 2023.

While the date may be just a placeholder and the exact release date is yet to be announced, it indicates when Bloober Team will release the game.
Fans expect the release date to come sooner rather than later, given that the potential release date has been leaked. There is excitement in the community regarding the remake as well.
The community is awaiting a glimpse of what the development team will do with the legendary IP from Konami and how they will update the game to bring it to par with the latest generation of gaming.

However, it will be a relief to the developers that one of their upcoming projects from the Silent Hill franchise has been lauded by the designer of the original Silent Hill Origins.
If Bloober manages to bring success to Konami via this franchise, Konami will keep up the trend of giving their famous IPs to third-party developers for remakes.
