Intel’s rumored upcoming products have their launch dates leaked

Intel’s 13th gen processors have provided stiff market competition to arch-rivals AMD. Dubbed the “Raptor Lake,” the desktop CPUs hit the market in October 2022 and set a new benchmark for future processors.

Recently ECSM, a Chinese media company reputed for accurate leaks featuring unreleased hardware, revealed that Intel plans on bringing the Raptor Lake Refresh K around October 2023, the non-K variant in November/December 2023, Sapphire Rapids in early 2024, Meteor Lake H in Q4 of 2023 and Arrow Lake S in Q4 of 2024 or Q1 of 2025.

This leak adds some element of truth to the leaks earlier this week. The leaks earlier this week revealed the branding of the upcoming 14th Gen processors.

Worth noting is the cancellation of Meteor Lake-S. This is expected after Tom’s Hardware revealed an industry slide wherein Intel mentioned the removal of the “productization of MTL S6+8”.

Also, according to this leak, not only the Raptor Lake Refresh for the client desktops is being produced but also Sapphire Rapids Refresh for the next Xeon W2500/W3500 series is under consideration.

The leaker ECSM added that all Intel 600/700 motherboards would support Raptor Lake Refresh. Also confirmed was the extension of the lifespan of the LGA1700 socket platform by at least another financial year.

The same upgrades apply to the Xeon W2500/W3500 series. The Xeon W2500 series and the W3500 series are expected to replace the W790 platform.

The cancellation of Meteor Lake-S, therefore, means that the client desktop line by Intel will not get a new product until Q4 of 2024.

This time frame also coincides with the earliest arrival of the next-gen Arrow Lake-S processors. The rebranding of the Core series means that there would be no Core Series product until Arrow Lake-S drops.

These products, especially the Arrow Lake-S processor, which is set to be based on the TSMC N3 technology, carry much promise. Intel fans will be hopeful for a great line of products when they launch.
