The upcoming new region in Genshin Impact’s version 4.0 has been named Fontaine – a hub of technological advancement marked by a class struggle and focus on environmental issues.
A recent leak about Genshin Impact’s upcoming region Fontaine reveals a concept art for a small fishing village. Leaked by the prominent leaker Tao via Videre, there is a mix of traditional architecture along with Fontaine’s technologically advanced waterwheels.

It is expected that players will pass through this village in their exploits in Genshin Impact. This is in line with earlier leaks that suggested that Fontaine will have an abundance of aquatic regions.
These leaks were consolidated with the recent Version 3.8 special program. This featured a small segment that revealed multiple locations in Fontaine.
The same special program also teased new mechanics like diving and underwater gameplay. Updates from Fontaine’s in-development build have revealed datapoints of value.
These datapoints could be extrapolated to signify major roads within Fontaine, along with low-poly models for the out-of-bounds region that was added in Version 3.6.
The fishing locale is one of Fontaine’s smaller locales. It has been rumored that Fontaine will have two major cities instead of one, as is the Genshin Impact tradition.
The two central cities have been likened to London and Paris. Other leaks have also shown off potential 3D models for parts of the city.
The in-game gadget “Kamera” that allows players to take in-game photos, originated in Fontaine. This was confirmed by multiple in-game events.
The aesthetics of Fontaine are anything but traditional. It features a neomodern steampunk inspired aesthetic. This would go well will the rumor that Fontaine was inspired by 19th century France with technological and artistic achievement.
The leaks by the Genshin community and leakers are mostly always accurate. These show that the Fontaine bears a lot of promise. It’s not long until mid-August when we get version 4.0 of Genshin Impact to explore Fontaine on our own.
