Square Enix giving low poly grapes from FF14 in Fan Festival goodie bag

Final Fantasy 14 players know the low-poly grapes that became a prominent meme. It was spotted in the Endwalker Expansion to Final Fantasy 14.

The Fan Festival for Final Fantasy XIV will be held in Las Vegas on July 28th and July 29th, 2023. Square Enix has revealed the items included in the Goody Bag given to all the in-person attendees. The goody bag will include a crossbody bag featuring the 10th-anniversary logo print, Loporrit Carrot Pen, Azem’s Crystal keychain, Grebuloff Magnet and Squishable Endwalker Grapes, i.e. the low poly grapes that came with the Endwalker Expansion.

While it’s unknown what Square Enix meant exactly by squishable, it could be a small plushie or an inflatable. They seem to have taken the criticism well and turned it around into an excellent piece of memorabilia for the fans of the game.

Despite the graphic failure, Square Enix consequently fixed the grapes that looked like Nintendo 64 game. They had updated the graphics and made them plump and delicious looking.

The crossbody bag as a whole is very stylish and has different compartments of varying sizes. The bag is adorned with embroidered Fan Festival 2023-24 series logo and the 10th-anniversary logo print.

The adjustable straps mean that it fits all. Each zipper pull is further embedded with meteor logos. The keychain is also fashioned after Azem’s Crystal which also includes a Fan Festival 2023-24 logo trinket.

As a funny note, the developers mentioned in the blog that, unlike the game, Azem’s crystal keychain will not summon seven others in time of need.

Grebuloff Magnet is a very adorable inclusion in the goody bag. The 10th-anniversary pin is very well designed and acts as long-serving memorabilia made of metal.

The developers also informed that the attendees must check in at the show to receive the goody bag as they will not be mailed out. The touch of nostalgia in the form of the Squishable low-poly grapes is quite humorous on the part of the developers who acknowledged their mistakes.
