2024’s Call of Duty title will pick up right after Black Ops: Cold War

In recent times, Call of Duty games have had a marked pattern. The established design comprises yearly titles with alternate developers.

The upcoming new title in the series will launch in 2024 and is being developed by Treyarch. Very little official information is known to date. However, fans have been treated to many leaks and data mines from the enthusiastic leaker community.

Recently, leaks on Twitter from reputed leaker @CODMW2Informer, Treyarch’s upcoming Call of Duty title will be a direct sequel to 2020’s Black Ops Cold War. This title will be centered around the Gulf War. Another leaker @CoD_Perseus confirmed the leaks by saying that the CoD title to be released will be set during Gulf War which has been known since the WZM leaks.

Beyond the setting and the overall time of conflict in which the game will be set, nothing much is known about the upcoming Call of Duty title. This includes the fates of the characters from the Black Ops Cold War, like Adler and Perseus, of which nothing is known.

Some theories suggest that they might make a return. It was also mentioned in the same tweet that multiplayer is planned to be just 6v6. The sliding feature has been reintroduced in the game after its temporary removal, and the tactical sprint lasts only a few seconds.

While the developers have officially announced nothing, it makes sense for the next title to be set during the Gulf War. Black Ops: Cold War was developed in the late 1980s, towards the end of the Cold War and Gulf War.

The Gulf War lasted from 1990 to 1991. It happened just as the Cold War ended and the Soviet Union was approaching its imminent collapse.

This will be an exciting premise for the Call of Duty series as it moves forward. Yet another US President is set to be depicted.

Nixon, Kennedy and Reagan have all been depicted at least once, either in a campaign or Zombies mode. The President during the Gulf War, George HW Bush, will potentially be making an appearance.

The leakers will hopefully back this leak up with concrete proof soon. With the exact details still unknown, fans will have to be patient until an official announcement is made.
