Intel’s internal presentation slides were leaked recently by Moore’s Law is Dead. These slides provided an in-depth view into core counts for the Meteor Lake Core Ultra and Raptor Lake Refresh products.
Reputed leaker @wnxod has revealed alleged Cinebench R23 benchmarks of the Core i7-14700K processor based on the Raptor Lake HX/S die. The CPU-Z output reveals that the CPU can reach 5.5GHz. The i7-14700K comprises 8 Performance Cores and 12 Efficient Cores, as confirmed by another reputed leaker, @harukaze5719, via Chinese Forum Baidu.
The Core i7-14700K reaches a peak of 5.5GHz. This is 100MHz more in comparison to the previous generation Core i7-13700K.
The 13700K features 8 Performance cores and 8 Efficient Cores as compared to the 14700K’s 8 Performance and 12 Efficient Cores. This is the reason for the improvements, as seen in the benchmarks.
Per the benchmarks shared, the i7-14700K scores 905 and 14965 in CPU-Z’s single-core and multi-threaded tests, respectively. The Cinebench R23 tests give 2192 for single-core and 36296 for multi-threaded, respectively.
The i7-14700K, compared to the 13700K, shows an improvement of 3.8% in single-core and 18.2% in multi-threaded tests when tested using CPU-Z. On Cinebench R23, the 14700K shows an improvement of 4.2% in single core and 16.9% in multi-threaded tests.
Thus, as we can see, the 14700K significantly improves the multi-threaded performance. However, single-core performance, often more crucial for regular tasks, improves by only 4%.
Since the authenticity of the benchmarks and the processor is unknown, it cannot be ascertained if this will be the final version of the processor.

The compatibility with existing motherboards is also a concern for many gamers. They hope the CPU will be compatible with pre-existing motherboards like B660, B760, Z760 and Z790.
@harukaze5719 has spotted the expected configuration of the Core i7-14700K desktop from the Task Manager. It is expected to have 20 cores in total with 28 threads.
This is the same count as the mobile Core i7-13850HX. However, the base clock is much higher at 3.4GHz than the 13850HX’s 2.1 GHz.
With the Raptor Lake Refresh launching in October, gamers and regular users await official news from Intel. This can be expected in Intel’s Innovation event, which will be held in September.
