Assassin’s Creed: Codename Red release window revealed via leaker

Ubisoft is expanding the Assassin’s Creed franchise to new levels, with 11 titles in development. This includes the soon-to-release Assassin’s Creed Mirage set in 9th Century Baghdad.

Assassin’s Creed Codename Red is reportedly set to be released in 2024. This was spotted by Access the Animus, a reputed Assassin’s Creed Leaker, in a LinkedIn post from a member of Ubisoft’s Business Development and Brand Partnership named Arisa Lagunzad. The post mentioned that Ubisoft is looking for sponsoring partners for Assassin’s Creed Codename Red, which will be the “biggest blockbuster for 2024.”

This is in keeping with a previous rumor that had hinted at a 2024 release. However, the developing studio Ubisoft Quebec has not announced anything about Assassin’s Creed: Codename Red.

AC: Codename Red will be set in feudal Japan and is rumored to have two main playable characters – one a samurai and other a shinobi. It remains unclear if there are two paths or narratives or whether there is a singular interchangeable character.

Another AC title is also hiring currently. Assassin’s Creed: Hexe is hiring a talented Groom Artist and a Senior Gameplay Animator, as revealed by Yara Tabbara, in charge of Hiring at Ubisoft Montreal.

AC: Hexe is reportedly set in 16th and 17th-century Germany. The Hexe in the game’s codename translates to “witch” in German. Ubisoft is yet to comment on the specifics of the game.

However, the same hiring manager further replied to a comment by saying that AC: Hexe will have “strong feminine energy” in MANY ways.” This could hint at a witch-based storyline.

With so many titles in development and more planned, there will be plenty of rumors. As for the element of truth in them, fans have to wait until the particular Ubisoft Studio addresses them or releases more details about the planned titles.
